Hi folks.

My wife and I married just a few days ago. And we're starting to look at all the paperwork now.

Background:

I'm a naturalized US Citizen

She visited US on tourist visa

We met and married.

Marriage Certificate doesn't have a field for "new family name" or something like that.

Should we use her maiden name on the I-130 and I-485?

Thanks!

Congrats on your wedding..... Your wife should file in whatever name she wishes to use now she is married.... if she wishes to use her married name then she fills in all the forms in that name and where it asks for other names used she puts her maiden name....

If she does not wish to use her married name then she fills all the forms in using her maiden name...

Whatever name she uses is the name that the greencard will be issued in....
