Yes, I agree with what you said. I am an American man, and I have a foreign fiancee and we are doing the K-1 visa. I know she feels uncomfortable that people think of her as a gold digger, and that she's using me to come to the US, which couldn't be any further from the truth. HOW ABOUT A GIRL WITH A SOUTH AFRICAN FIANCEE, all I hear from my now EX FRIENDS, is that he only wants to marry you to get his GREEN CARD...You are giving him the gift of the UNITED STAES..........I can not stand it any longer, I left New York in November and I am waiting in South Africa with him till the K1 visa goes thru and I will never speak to those so called friends, even one girl was going to be my Maid of Honor....... AMEN to that!! I'm the USC and i've encountered lazy, controlling a$$holes who don't know how to treat their lady too....I'm not saying all USC men are like that but to stereotype and generalize USC women is not right.

I am American. If you are gracious and kind and polite, most Americans will like you. However if you come off like a self rightous holier than thou little snot, of course his family or friends will hate you. Its not rocket science. Its putting your best foot foward and forgiving the foreigners for pre judging you. Frankly , I have met some "foreign fiancee" brides over the last couple of years that really just looked down their nose at everyone and everything. Put a smile on your face, pitch in with chores, offer help to others and people will like you... Sometimes the husbands encourage this by demonising American women to the foreign fiancee. We are ALL WOMEN... Its like anything new, you need to be the one to adjust and be forgiving. I personally have had the nastiest treatment in the world when on vacation in Europe and the FSU so its not just you getting treated badly. I found some parts of Europe nasty and condescending to Americans and I have been there 20 plus times

That is complete garbage. I have never looked at an American marrying a foreigner and felt animosity towards them. I also don't care if someone chooses a foreigner over me ( UM WAIT>>> I DID NOT MARRY AN AMERICAN MAN...um maybe I cannot talk)

I have seen some of these women from certain countries wait like vultures till they have their greencard then VAWA their husbands or just play the game till conditions are removed. No one is saintly.
