Sounds like they called and gave YOU an interview (those questions sound suspiciously like the ones asked at the consulate). But at least you know they looked at your case today. Hopefully you will be creating a visa in hand thread soon.

Yes, I agree, it was an interview. He asked some of the same questions they asked my husband, I am sure to compare answeres.

Although I am happy for you...I don't understand why the DOS called you.

I mean, once your husband has gone through the interview process and satisfied the consulate officer, then why is your case being asked the same questions over again by someone stateside (DOS)?

Additionally, they have the power to just "move the case up" like this????

Don't get me wrong, I am happy for you....but wondering why the rest of the people in AP aren't given the same treatment.

If I said I knew why they called me, that would be a false statement. I won't pretend to understand their system, because they don't seem to do anything the same with each case. I don't know how you took it, but the way I took this call was they didn't trust my husband's answers so they called me to compare. Who knows, we both may be wrong....lol. Anyways, I will take what I can get at this point. We've been in AP for almost 9 months and apart from each other 15 1/2 months. I am ready for my husband and I to start our life together.

Hmmmmmmmmmmm DO you remember the entire phone number? I have been receiving calls from a 202 area code area but I ignore numbers I do not recognize. I am sure I gave them both our cell numbers if they need us for anything. I just got this number in January. However, my daughter answered once and told them she was my daughter and they asked her if she was handling my marriage.....but I had my friend Lecie from work call them back and she asked what kind of business it was and they said it was a business called CBR. Anyway, I am a little confused. Now I am worried. But if it was DOS they should have said it when we called back.

Cheryl (F)

You know what Cheryl......I just really now looked at the whole number.........its a 202-27964718 number.......OMG!!! Is that number from Egypt? But the man said he was from DOS? I am so confused....

The embassy number is 02-27973300 ..........so if you put a 2 in front then all but the last 5 numbers match. Where's that detective smiley when ya need it???? The person who investigated my husband's neighborhood had a cell number that was close to the embassy's. I wonder if they give out numbers to the people they hire? Maybe it was the officer on the case and that nice lady Sue contacted him and said enough is enough.

I wanna get Sue next time!!!!!

Okay well that makes me feel better mine shows up as Washington DC on the caller ID so I know mine is not from Egypt. One more question though.....what number are you calling to get Sue at DOS I would like to call her and check on our case status.

Thanks

Cheryl (F)

I did however get a 00000000 number show up on my cell phone and when I answered they asked fro Cheryl but I was at work and the called dropped. It was a foreigner but they have not called back and I cannot return a call to 0000000000. Uffffff why can they not just tell u who they are or call from a legitimate number. Anyway< I will feel better if I can call Sue and ask about our case.

wouldn't we all!! lol. I don't think you can request a particular visa specialist. The DOS number is 202-663-1225, then press 1 and 0.

I got Sarah today. I was not going to call, but after the Chris incident this week I wanted to give it another shot. Seems he done lied to me again! He said Cairo responded to the inquiry and Sarah said no they have not as of yet. She also said that her screen was showing that very little notes were taken ( during the interview, I take that to mean) . Then the standard, "Your case is still under review. " Blah. I knew that was coming. DOS makes me dizzy.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

now i'm confused. Why did my last person tell me NO notes are written anymore but yours says "very little"? No does not equal very little. Very little insinuates something is there.

:blink::blink::blink::blink:

This is a FIRST for me!!!!!!! My number's unlisted so I guess I'm SOL!!!

Mine's unlisted too, but the application asks for a phone number. They'd call you at whichever one you put down.

Every time I talk to DOS - they say "Is the petitioner's phone number still XXX-XXX-XXXX?"
