Hey everyone,

Haven't received an NOA2 yet ( I wish) but was just wondering, how long does it usually take to finish with everything after that (everything, meaning interview and being able to go to America).

For Thai people specifically, about how long after you receive your NOA2 does it take for USCIS to send it to the US embassy in Bangkok, and then about how long does it take for them to grant you an interview? How far apart usually is the interview from the day that they receive your packet?

Thanks a lot...

For thai filers I wouldn't be able to tell you...but from the moment it gets approved it takes nvc 3-4 days - 2 weeks to send it to your embassy...the embassy..depending on the amount they have to process send out packets. once your packet info is submitted it may take them up to a month to give you an interview date or longer...

In colombia there is a trick of estimating the date received and sending in the packet 3 info before receiving it...but that may only work with colombia...that shaves off about a month of time. All embassys are different and what may work for one may not work for another..

Good luck!!

For recent K1 visas through Thailand, it has been 70 to 90 days from NOA2 to interview for interviews in January, but has jumped for March/April interviews to 110+ days. I would guess this is due to the embassy not conducting interviews in February.

To see these figures, click on "immigration timelines" above, then "View K1 Visas (advanced view)". Go to the bottom and select by country (pick Thailand) - (I also increase the rows to display per page to a larger number). Then go to the top of the list and click the down arrow next to "interview". This will sort the list by interview date, with the most recent at the top. Seven columns to the right will be the "129F NOA2 to interview" column.

I suggest filling in as much of the packet 3 forms for her as possible and sending them to her now. Go to this link for the US Embassy in Bangkok. It has the packet 3 instructions and forms.

Good luck and hang in there!
