Hi there,

Would just like to ask if i still need police clearance even if i have not stayed in another country for more than 6 months? It is clearly stated in the packet 4 that you just need it if you have been out of the country for more than 6 months but our lawyer sent me a list of requirements for my interview (on March 4) and it had the police clearance listed there.

To those who has had their interview recently, i hope u can shed light on this.

Jan 4 '08 MNL2008502xxx; case forwarded to USEM

Jan 16 '08 got medical and interview schedule online

Jan 26 '08 received packet 4 from USEM

Feb 26 '08 Medical exam at SLEC

Mar 4 '08 Interview at the USEM (approved!)

Mar 6 '08 Visa Pick up

Mar 14 '08 Flight from Manila to LAX

No need for a Police Clearance from another country if you stayed there less than 6months. The requirement is 6 months or more so if you are out of that range, you are good. Goodluck.

Removal of Conditions :

August 16, 2010 - Petition received by USCIS Vermont Center

August 20, 2010 - NOA1 received

October 4, 2010 - Biometrics

January 3, 2011 - Permanent 10 yr. Green Card Received.

Even though you don't need police reports from other countries if you haven't been there for more than 6 months, you still need a report from the NBI.

First trip 01-17-07

Married 02-05-07

What Service Center was filed at? Nebraska transferred to California

Provide dates for the following:

I-130 sent (Mailed)..........................3-12-07

1st NOA (Receipt Notice) .................3-29-07

2nd NOA (Approval Notice) e-mail.....6-15-07

Bill for I-864 processing fee rcd and sent..7-24-07

I-864 Packet Received......................8-18-07

I-864 Mailed to NV............................8-20-07

Bill for DS-230 received....................8-29-07

Payment for DS-230 sent..................8-30-07

DS-230 Packet received..................10-25-07

Margx! Maybe your lawyer meant a local police certificate? cuz I remember when we were going the CR1 route, we were asked for a police certificate and an NBI clearance and we sent it to NVC. Luckily, police certificate is issued in 2 copies so I still have one. It's easy to get one. Just go to your local police department (mine was in UN avenue right across the hospital I used to work at) and i got mine in 30 minutes. Expedited for Php200 :)

Yellow letter date: 12/14/2011
