Some actors who should never get leading roles:

Nick Cage (mmmmm)

Drew Barrymore (I hate her)

John Travolta (You know what I'm gonna do? I'm gonna strut!)

Madonna (I think she actually ruined Guy Ritchie's career)

Al Pacino (Sorry, Scarface was unwatchable)

Angelina Jolie (horrible)

Christian Bale (He's like a non-ginger version of David Caruso)

Ashley Judd (Too bad she can't go back to UK to be a cheerleader)

Danny Glover (Predator 2, anyone?)

Sandra Bullock (She made Keanu Reeves seem decent in Speed)

Ben Affleck (I should be refunded for seeing Armageddon)

ummmmmmm....no offense, but have you completely lost your mind???

scarface is not the only movie he was in...how about donnie brasco, the devil's advocate, serpico, THE GODFATHER?!?! ya gotta be kiddin' me

i grant you all of the others

All movies that I didn't really care for. He was decent as the devil, but a fairly ####### movie in my mind. The Godfather was an overrated slug on the bottom of my shoe. That was 3 hours that would have been better spent polishing doorknobs. No movie should last that long.

Pacino was good in the first two Godfather movies - that restaurant shooting scene, where he has no dialog but acts with his eyes is pretty good, I think.

He's gone off the rails since the 80's - rather like Michael Caine did during the 70's. These days Al seems to equate good acting with how loudly he can shout.

interesting generalization...

whatever, you dont like the movie in particular, but how can you say that no movie should be that long???

i guess you dont read books then? because they take more than three hours to read, must not be worth it.

You're talking about 2 completely different mediums. As far as that goes, I tend to not read really long books as I lose interest before I'm finished. Give me a nice, concise Richard Bach novel or Aldous Huxley book any day.

Hahaha. The loud talking always gets me with him. Watching him act is like watching Christopher Walken on SNL.

I guess being in Scent of a Woman explains his bizarre ability to look at absolutely nothing during every scene he's been in since.

I think Michael Caine's ####### too - though he has had a reasonably decent (Shatneresque) comeback in the last few years.

Ever heard that old chestnut of his - that he's apparently "very good with accents". Odd that in every movie he's been in he can't disguise his Cockney.

Oddly enough - Christian Bale is well known for his ability to effortlessly mimic almost any accent.

LIQUID SKY.

definitely one of the lamest movies ever. Others include: Terminator-rise of the machines. Final Destination II. Solaris. Solaris was bad enough that my husband and I kept fast forwarding through it in hopes of seeing George Clooney's bare bottom. We never did see the proverbial buttocks.

Judge Judy rules!

he seems to be able to slip into any role and you hardly know it is him... kind of like Edward Norton...

I do think Christian Bale is a good actor - but he's done a lot of bad/mixed movies that don't require much of a range.

Daniel Day Lewis was damned good in There Will Be Blood - that's the best piece of acting I've seen in a long time. Of course he's a method actor, with all the psychological issues that go along with that.

My favourite actor though is Johnny Depp - He was a great actor long before he went mainstream. In fact the mainstream stuff is his least interesting work IMO - though he still gets it together to do some pretty remarkable performances. He was great in The Libertine.
