yes but im speaking of the original Halloween 1 as being better, not the other dorky ones that followed it.

The reason why it sucked to me was the acting, where the f did they find the actors

The actors were basically from Rob Zombie's core group. Most of them were in both House of 1000 Corpses and The Devil's Rejects. His mom is actually Rob Zombie's wife. The step-dad played Sherrif Wydell in The Devil's Rejects. Tyler Mane (grown-up Mike) played Sabertooth in X-Men.

and also the guy who played the sheriff ih Halloween 2007, Brad Dourif was the voice of Chucky

I was disappointed by Children of Men.

Yeah, I was too. I was expecting something completely different than what I actually got.

Exactly. But I must say, the chase scene through the woods was pretty darn cool.

it was the girls who played the 3 best friends.

the boy who played young michael myers was awesome tho, he scared the heck outta me

but the girls, they made me so annoyed i didnt wanna watch more

They were pretty bad, but I assumed that he put them in there as an homage to the history of the series. It did seem to be too large of a portion of the movie, though.

I heard that Sam Raimi is going to bring back the Evil Dead series. Look for that one to be a total failure. Raimi lost his cult status with the junk that is Spiderman and he won't be able to go back on the cult following. I don't know, it wouldn't be the same without Bruce Campbell, and I feel like he's too old for it now....like the new Indiana Jones flick

Oh man. A Clockwork Orange and Zoolander are two of my favorite movies. Ever. I have weird taste.

I hated Atonement. Hated. And Stranger than Fiction. The book far outranks the movie...

And I'm scrambling to finish reading The Other Boleyn Girl by Friday when the movie comes out. If it sucks, I'll be crushed.

This is why you don't read books that are becoming movies! J/k :D

Bu I tried reading The Lord of the Rings after watching the movies...big mistake. I only made it halfway through the first book.

I just googled him. WOW. He was Billy Bibbit. I didn't recognize him at all.

That's funny...I'm just the opposite! I don't think I ever would have made it through Lord of the Rings if I hadn't seen the movies first.

I haven't really had any desire to see Atonement because I didn't really like the book very much, plus Keira Knightly gets on my nerves.

The Lord of the Rings books were awesome.. they are a bit difficult to read because Tolkien liked to describe everything in detail...

I am glad I read the books before I saw the movies....

I really hope they do the Hobbit....

I used to love the LOTR books when I was a kid - these days I'm a bit more critical of them. I think the huge public Tolkien's books are overrated in a lot of ways - he's the Elvis of that particular genre.

That whole Treebeard chapter is the worst thing in there - it kills the story flat. First time I read the book - that stopped me in my tracks - nearly 100 pages of tedium with the Ents. It was too much of a slog. And of course - the chronology in LOTR is all over the shop.

I find the movies much more accessible. I think Pete Jackson et al did a pretty good job of cutting out off the excess fat in the story.

One thing I do like about the book is that the language gets progressively darker - there's not really a specific point where you notice the change, but you do notice that it goes from an jaunty little tale about an eleventy-first birthday party to really dark stuff about people being skinned and eyelids cut off.
