hello everyone, just wanted to introduce myself and to ask a question or ask for comments on this situations. okay, well i got married to my illegal husband in the UK on may 14th 2007, he used to have a visa to study in the UK but then he decided to work and not go to school soo the visa voided.

we got married after a few years of him being in UK illegally and then we thought to file the immigration papers. we were told that we should have no trouble with the UK gov't but it doesn't seem to be the case. Now our stupid lawyer is saying my husband needs to get police clearance (calling the police station for a background check) for all the cities he's lived in. well, we can't do that, he will get arrested for being here illegally and then deported to libya.

we are filing the k-3 today but we are thinking that it might not even be worth it because he can't get this, can we have the k-3 approved without these police clearances (he has to get them from england, france, and libya)? i was thinking that the lawyer should have told me and that he's just after the money, think i should drop him because he's doesn't seem like he's using his knowledge on this case? Can a lawyer do anything to get a police clearence himself for my husband without my husband doing it on his own? i would really like some opinions because i feel like i'm in a hole and might just give up this immigration process...but that would mean i would have to be away from my husband for 4 months at a time or more and not start a family for maybe 3 or 4 years. that would also mean i'm separated from my immediate family (mother, father, brother, grandparents, etc) which will be very hard for me because i'm very connected to them, very close...mostlikely if we stop the immigration, i will finish my college then i will not see my parents for years on end and they won't see any of the kids, only photos, maybe i should stop thinking about that though.......i love my husband...

what does everyone think, i welcome all opinions and comments and answers.....

Thanks for reading and your replies,

Amy and Ali

All I can say is when a person violates a country's immigrations laws, be it USA, UK, or any other country, they need to be prepared to deal with the consequences.

I read a post a while ago on a different board, of a visa being denied by the consulate because of illegal immigrations to Canada.

OUR TIME LINE Please do a timeline it helps us all, thanks.

Is now a US Citizen immigration completed Jan 12, 2012.
