Hi Everybody,

Today me and my fiance were having a discussion about me entering US. Our discussion led to POE and work authorization. I told him that I would prefer coming through JFK, New York because Officers at New York POE stamp work authorization of 90 days without much of hassle. As the discussion continued we started getting some doubts too and hence am here with our queries so that we can decide from where to enter US.

Here are our Queries -

1) My final destination will be Houston, Texas. Will it be OK for me to enter through New York? Or Houston will be a better option?

2) If New York POE stamps 90 days work authorization, will it be valid only for New York? or it will be valid irrespective of the location?

3) If I enter through Houston, what are the chances of getting work authorization for initial 90 days?

We are looking towards work authorization because I am a Network Security Specialist and am getting some offers too. If I get work authorization it will be our call to decide when to start working and whom to join. Manish agrees with me and we are yet to book my flight.

Thanks,

Manya

I feel it in my finger....I feel it in my toes ... Love is all around me... so the feeling grows .... !!!

Only place that is giving 90 day EAD stamp is JFK and a few land crossing on the Canadian border.... the 90 day stamp is valid anywhere in the USA.... never heard of anyone getting the EAD stamp at Houston...
