I should be receiving my work permit real soon, is there a way you can travel with only a work permit?

I really need to go home for something and i heard there is a way

I'll travel 'round the seven seas for you

It's written in the melody i adore you

I wrote my love a symphony

To show you there's nothing i won't do

Baby i'll walk around the china wall for you

If there's a way i'll do it all for you

Anything you want me to, you know i would do

An Employment Authorization Card can not be used for foreign travel.... if you leave the USA and try to re-enter using your EAD you will be denied entry and will had abandoned your AOS...

You need to file for Advanced Parole and wait for it to be approved and in hand before you can travel... or wait until you have your Greencard....

EAD and AP (advance parol) are very different documents.

Did you apply for the AP when you sent the AOS application? If not and if you really need to go back home apply for one now (it would not have been an additional cost if you applied for it at the same time as AOS). Do not leave the country unless you have AP or Green Card.
