Istanbul embassy anyone?

Seems like everyone has to go through Ankara, I put down on my K1 application I would use Istanbul's consulate, I know there's one there and my BF says some people go through there but not sure about K1 visa. Will my application automatically be redirected to Ankara. Anyone with answers please inform. Thank you sooooo much!

Istanbul is a consulate and Ankara is the embassy. Istanbul handles some tourist visas, but Ankara deals with other types of visas. I don't know if it will automatically be re-directed, but I am sure things will get sorted.

Right, the NVC will direct your petition to the appropriate Embassy which is the Ankara Embassy, all K-1 and I-130 are done in Ankara.

Yep, just like everyone said, it will be redirected. I had done the same thing on my K-1 petition because it was going to be easier for my fiance, but later I read were Ankara handles all the K-1 visas. It was redirected and sent to Ankara.

Good Luck with this process. Yilmaz, my fiance would have been here if he hadn't overstayed when he was here in the U.S. Now we are waiting for an answer regarding our waiver that we filed.
