Hello guys,

I'd like to ask some questions I hope you can help me with this, I am currently in the process of Adjustment of Status, in March I will going back to Philippines to get my daughter who is on K2, she will be having her medical and interview on March we decided to have her later for me and my stepson to adjust with each other, it might be overwhelming for the kid to adjust to two person. My question is what should I follow on purchasing a ticket? my Last Name now that I am married or my LAST NAME on my passport which is my last name before I got married? I have papers that allow me to go out of the country the ADVANCE PAROLE I am just worried that i might have a problem in immigration since my passport and my ADVANCE PAROLE document is on different LAST NAME. What papers should I bring with me before I leave U.S. and what are the papers should I bring in the interview for my daughter in the US EMBASSY? I am hoping to get some reply and thank you for the answers...

Gelyn :D

I would use the married name on the AP. I would take a copy of your marriage certificate to show proof of your name change. Someone else can help you out with your last Question. Good Luck to you!

I was going by a post I seen in January.. Here is the link to it.... From what I read you can do it either way....... Traveling with AP - Name on AP different than Passport

This link isn't working, so do a search on it and you should be able to find it and read post 15 or 16 I believe.. Good Luck to you

The plane ticket and the passport names must match or they will not let you board the plane. Bring your marriage certificate to show that the name on the passport was changed to the name on the AP so you can enter the United States on your return. The same thing happens when your passport has maiden name and green card has married name. You use the passport to enter the foreign country and the green card to re enter the US. The marriage certificate is important because I do not think that the AP has a picture "never seen one". You should also take your marriage certificate with you when you have your green card because they will look at it and your green card so you do not have to pay the higher travel tax when leaving the Philippines.

as far the interview for K-2 in Manila, it's basically the same as a K-1. the DS- 156k will not be needed. also an NBI Clearance is not needed if your child is under the age of 16.

best of luck with the interview. it should be a breeze..
