Any one know how you go about getting an official translation of a birth certificate? What makes it official?

Any one know how you go about getting an official translation of a birth certificate? What makes it official?

It only has to be translated by someone fluent in English and the language of the document. It is not required to be translated by a certified translator.

From the guides and USCIS website...

13. Please submit certified translations for all foreign language documents. The translator must certify that s/he is competent to translate and that the translation is accurate.

The certification format should include the certifier's name, signature, address, and date of certification. A suggested format is:

I typed name , certify that I am fluent (conversant) in the English and languages, and that the above/attached document is an accurate translation of the document attached entitled type name of document.
