Hi

I am getting ready to fill the K-1 for my fiancée. I have a question about document translation. According to the instructions “All documents in foreign language must be translated”. I met my fiancée in a different city than the one I fly to when in visiting China. I order a plane ticket and reserved hotel in China (demotic China flight), so all the receipts are in Chinese (only a part of the receipts has English). Do I need to translate those documents? Anyone has experience on doing similar thing? All the receipts are in a form, so when I translate do I have to re-create the form then do the translation?

Thanks.

Henry

Just highlight the dates. You only have to translate official documents, and only if requested by the consualte.

Translation have to do with offical documents like birth certificate, divorce decrees, police report, medical examines, etc.

don't worry about the plane ticket or hotel.

send only copies, keep the originals unless asked.

make sure you triple check your paper work because if you make a mistake, add 1 month or more delay. Just getting from NOA1 to NOA2 been taking about 150 days. Adding another 30 days adds more stress.

good luck
