What is the Alien Receipt#?

Hello all!

I'm in the process of filing my wife's AOS packet and keep coming across numbers that I am not exactly sure of.

Does Alien Receipt# = Alien Registration# = A# = I-94#???

These numbers are spattered across the AOS packet forms and I want to be certain of what they pertain to before filing.

Its the A# that you would have on your NOA2 from the K-1 visa.

There are also a couple places that ask for the I-94 number.

So the A# is on the NOA Approval Notice under the "Beneficiary" heading A_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _? (The letter "A" followed by 9 digits)

Is this the same number as the Alien Receipt# and Alien Registration#?

Simpler Way to find both A# and I-94#:

When your wife enter to the States, she would receive a I-94 form (Departure Record)

Front: left up corner (11 degits) for the I-94#

Back: The Immigration officer will hand write a # start with A (and that's the A#)

There is no A number written on the back of her I-94. Where else may I find this number?

Ohhh so weird?! Then you may try to find on her K-1 visa or the NOA2 of I-129F.

There is no A number written on the back of her I-94. Where else may I find this number?

I entered on a student visa and they didn't give me an A# and on the back of my I94 its an N# so I didn't write anything down for the A# ....but what about on the back of pictures should I write something besides my name?

Maybe don't worry about the A#, I just take a look at my I-485 form, it said that A# (if any)
