So we have our answer! Thanks to Cecy and the Embassy.

I guess we have the proof we need now :)

07.17.2008 AOS approved with interview. It took 367 Days!

Yep. This news excites me. We're planning a few belated honeymoon side trips around Europe. I Even surprised my wife with tickets in "World Business Class" with Northwest/KLM. Now I'm just hoping that Northwest's potential merger with Delta falls through. I don't wanna risk these reservations :P

I have a question for those who registered their marriage with the French Authorities. We are applying through the mail as the closest Embassy is 4 hours away and we really don't have time to go right now. On the papers needed they mention

une enveloppe permettant le suivi d'envoi prepayee au tarif en vigueur

What kind of envelop did you use? What size? And where did you find a prepaid one here?

"- Enveloppe,adhésive, demi-format (9 ’’x 6 ’’) affranchie à 5,50 $ en timbres et « certified mail receipt » libellés à vos nom et adresse pour le retour du livret de famille"

Mon conseil, n'envoie pas ton courrier par USPS. Ils ont perdu mon courrier depuis deux semaines et je passe mes journees a me battre pour qu'ils le retrouvent. :angry:

Je l'avais meme envoyee priority mail avec signature delivery confirmation.

In this tedious process, we tend to forget that this is all worth it.
