Quick question:

A few weeks back, my wife had her biometrics appointment here in Milwaukee. We arrived at the local USCIS office to find they were closed due to extreme winter weather. It took weeks for her appointment to be rescheduled - meanwhile, we're patiently waiting for her EAD.

Is the EAD process dependent on the biometrics being completed first? I just wonder if we can expect any progress to be made in her AOS/EAD application process prior to this next appointment. I'm guessing no...

Thanks much!

Max,

I guess the biometric should be completed first because in my EAD card it was my fingerprint and Picture during the biometric appeared on the card..Just my thought though.. I might be wrong :innocent:

The biometrics are used to print your EAD card. So you can't take anything until that's done. You'll just have to be patient. Although as soon as you have the biometrics, if everything else is good, it could go fast; Hard to tell.

Yes, your EAD adjudication does depend on your biometrics. In our case, our biometrics was so delayed, the EAD was approved a day later. You have another month or so until you would be out of the normal range of approval, so just give it some time.

hi Max , well yes I think you need the biometrics first in order to get the EAD, and after that is going a few weeks I had my biometrics at Milwaukee too and the pictures that they took there they used in the EAD.

We were told that the biometrics were needed in order to complete the EAD process. My husband had his biometrics done in St Paul, MN and we received an email saying that the approval notice was being mailed (Februrary 20th,2008) and that his EAD should arrive within the next 2-4 wks.
