All this talk of renewable energy for the future is bullshit - a distraction from the truth that they are more concerned with short-term profit than providing a lasting environmental legacy and sustainable alternative energy sources for future generations.

Not very efficient though - you have to build miles of the things to get anything approaching the level of a conventional power plant, and its pathetic compared to the output of a nuclear plant.

They have a bunch in Britain too - entire hillsides covered with them.

As someone who fought very hard against a wind "farm" in my locale in the UK, it's not always as viable and ecologically friendly as one might think. They were talking about development in an unsuitable place, having to create turbines taller than any other in the UK to achieve a minimal amount of power and destroying much farmland to do it. Not everyone who opposes wind power is doing it due to nimbyism.
