Does it help to talk to Consul?

Has anyone had any experience calling the overseas Embassy to talk to the Consul, about your SOs case? To talk to them and explain, perhaps let them hear from you and try to persuade them to move your wife/fiance's case along, and that your case is a legitimate one?

Also, do you think it would be helpful if I actually went over there and walked into the Embassy to talk to the Consul about my wife's Visa petition? Does that help if you go in person and let them see you, perhaps they can guage and get a better feel for what you're about, and help your cause?

If my wife's visa keeps dragging, I'm thinking of calling my Senator to try to get some help - is that a good idea, would it do any good?

BTW, this if for my wife, I-130, CR-1 Visa petition, already had interview 3 weeks ago but they keep asking her to come back and bring more stuff with her (proof of relationship), and 221(g) letter, so this is getting really frustrating...

Please if anyone can advise for these approaches.

Thanks much!

We can't give you good answer if you don't complete your timeline and also if you don't give a full explanation of what they are asking for.

Only at the end of your message did you tell us that your SO already had interview.

From what you wrote initially, it seemed you did not even get your NOA2.

Be more specific on what they are asking for is you want help

If you have indeed had your interview, then talking to the embassy might prove difficult, depending on the embassy. My husband couldn't even get a U.S. notary on the copy of his passport at the embassy in Dakar for our U.S. taxes, even though they do this according to their own website. THey were rude and he went four times with all the tax forms, etc. We had to spend $200 to send the passport here so I can obtain a notarized copy of it and send it back. Sometimes the embassy staff are condescending and rude to the local people who are hosting them. Perhaps it can help your case. Good luck!

Just trying to muster the energy (and the money) to do this again.
