And guess what's happening in places like India and China? Women are having ultrasounds and when they see it's a girl, they're having abortions. The ratio is going from 51% female 49% male to 60% male. There will be a lot of men who won't/can't get married. You're going to see lots of social strife in the coming years, unfortunately.

That said, if you read "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" by Toni Weschler, she explains how timing intercourse during the first or second half of your fertile time can possibly determine whether your child will be a boy or a girl. She does state that it is still theory, but also presents some scientific evidence on how this could be true.

But how? Sex of the baby depends entirely on the man. A woman can ONLY contribute X chromosomes. Men's sperms carry either X or Y. So if he's got all Xs only girls will be born. If he has only Ys, then only boys.

Does the woman's body somehow "choose" the sperms with certain chromosmes based on where she is in her cycle? I'm intrigued.

I agree with those that said that eventually, when the time comes, all that will and should be important is the baby's good health.. That's obvious..

But FOR ME, i grew up with 3 very annoying younger brothers, and i've always felt alone...I've always wanted a sister, until my sister did come along....15yrs after me.. I am so close to her, and i taught her everything, changed her diapers, did everthing for her... And somehow i feel like i wouldn't know how to do the same with a boy... It sounds silly but that's just how i feel.. And girls clothes are so cute!

Anyway, i have a feeling that once the baby is inside my tummy, i'll just be so excited and can't wait to see the baby no matter if it's a boy or a girl..

I always though all of this was bullshit. Also, the whole cum before or after thing, some women don´t cum through intercourse, so would that mean she´d only have boys?

I think I remember reading something about studies saying closer to ovulation could be male, further away would be female. Apparently girl sperm have more longevity!

I have read some "theory" that sperm carrying the Y chromosome swim faster but has a short life span (24 hours I think, not sure). So, if the egg is at the right spot where the Y chromosome carriers can get to them first, then the child will be a boy.

The X chromosome carriers, on the other hand, are slow swimmers but can last up 2 to 3 times longer than the Y chromosome carriers. So, it can happen that by the time the egg does make it to where it can be fertilized, the Y carriers are "dead" and ony the X carriers are left swimming around.

I've never had the opportunity to try this theory out. Would be interesting to find out the success rate for people who do try this method of "picking" their baby's sex.

I'm curious..If i ever decide to get pregnant, i'll be happy with whatever God gives me, but i think i might be happier with a girl... They're so adorable! I already bought her a red velvet santa outfit with all the fur and the hat and stuff.. Oh and i bought her a nice halloween costume...I know, im silly but it was on sale! lol
