Hello guys,

We just got married yesterday. And it was free no fee.

I just wanna share it with you guys that when we got our marriage license we only paid $61.00 coz we took a pre-marriage counsiling course. and we got our marriage license on that day.

and Today we went to the SSA to apply for SSN. The guy at the SSA office was so nice, when i file-up the application i was just use the sure name of my husband and place my passport with K-1 VISA and I-94 to the officer but we dont have our marriage certificate with us coz just got married and need to wait a couple weeks. and the officer told me to use my surename and not the sure name of my husband for my ssn card. so its o.k while dont have a marriage cert. so now waiting for my SSN card with in my name.

i have a question:

How long does it take to release the marriage certificate after they recieve our complete marriage license?

Hope any body can answer me.

Ask the Register of Deeds of the county where you got married. Every county is different (price and time until you can get your marriage certificate back). In ours we brought the signed license straight from the Magistrate to the register of Deeds and we left with our certificate in hands. But you can't compare.

Given them a call is the best way to get an answer.
