I have question on a name change. I got married May 2007. I never changed my name because I needed my passport for traveling. I filed my I-130 & I-129F with my old name. Now I want to change my name since I am in the US for a while. Can you tell me would this be a problem since USCIS has my name before marriage?

Married in Bosnia 05/26/2007

Sent I-130: August 15, 2007

Received NOA1: October 3, 2007

Sent I-129F: October 4, 2007

I-129F NOA2: April 3, 2008

NVC Received: April 22, 2008

Left NVC: May 15, 2008

Interview: June 18, 2008

U.S. Entry: August 11, 2008

Sent AOS package VIA Certfied Priority USPS: May 28, 2009

Sorry, I need to I am the US citizen. My husband is from Bosnia and we are waiting for our petition to be approved. I don't want any problem getting his visa.

Yuppo, if it is your husband that is immigrating then it won't be a problem for him.

CR1 application

NVC: 07/20/2007-11/08/2007

Interview at Montreal Consulate: 01/18/2008

(2 months' additional security checks)

Received Green Card: 05/12/2008

Removal of Conditions

I-751: 2/25/10-

The visa and green card are for the immigrant, your husband in this case. Your name change has nothing to do with it, they have your marriage documents with both your maiden and married name on them.
