Hi all!

I am a South African living in Ireland and have been here for over 8years now :) Well I am marrying the man of my dreams soon (visa permitting!) and I need to get a police clearance certificate from the Gardai...only when I went to my local station (in Bray, Co.Wicklow) they said that they don't issue them? Can someone please give me some advice?!

Thanks a million

candice

hi Candice,

Ask for a Garda clearence form the Gards in your local Station, each station has the forms, i have to get one for work purposes, so I know they have them, explain to the Gard that it is the form that is send to the Garda Vetting Unit in. Fill out the form they give you and send it to the Garda Vetting Unit in Co. Tipperary, usually takes a few weeks to get back, you will have to send a stamped addressed envelope with it and i think it costs €6.35, which u cna pay by cheque or postal order.

Hope this helps :)

How's the form ? I know there hasent been anybody who posted on here for ages but still.

Add us to the list aswell.

Paul....Cork...Megan.....NC....

Embassy Interview due shortly, Notification of readiness posted off over 2 weeks ago.

Anybody have any tips for Interview ?

What supporting documentation did you all have ?

The affidavit of Support (I-134) is wrecking my head as Megan is in a Masters Programme so we had to ask her Dad to be co-sponsor and we are all so confused as to what docs they will look from him.

Stay in Touch,

Increase the Peace !

Paul.

Hey,

Best of luck at the Interview, all will go well. Just believe in that.

CR1 interview is for already married couples isnt it ?

Is the interview in Dublin or in the U.S. ?

Cheers,

Paul.

Yeah, we've been married since 2008. Interview's in Dublin. We're actually expecting a denial due to a really old crime. :crying:

Waiver packet is done & ready to hand in, so then we'll just wait.

Unless there's a miracle...in which case, someone will need to staple my shoes to the floor.

Sorry to hear about the denial....i heard that our case was completed today in the NVC - so we're praying for a February interview. I haven't posted on this topic before - I'm TKP, Irish....

Am I pushing the boat out hoping for a february interview? Also where is best for a medical? We're from the West coast, so Galway is closest, but Dublin isn't a million miles away.

Thanks, and hi everyone

Sorry to hear about that denial! I was worried for a time during my K1 that I might get denied luckily I didn't I can only imagine how much extra stress that would add.

I thought I'd check back in on this thread again. Well after our (at that point in time) u-turn on moving back to Ireland. Now it's just me (we got divorced a few months ago) I'm thinking maybe it's time I went back? Well I'm thinking now that I'm single again what reason is there for me to remain here? I've thought about this on and off for about 9 months and this past week it's really sinking in that, well why am I still here! I've a decent job here, bought a nice wee car and live in a nice area which is all nice but I've no friends/family over this way at all and not really much if anything in common with the locals whom are nice of course.

I'm taking a trip back home next month to visit but also test out the waters over there to see what's there in reality on the ground try and help me make up my mind if I really do want to move back or not. I've checked jobs with my experience and certifications from the US at this point in time plus work history back home (which has been all but ignored in the US lol) work shouldn't be impossible to find I'd just need to buy a car and start from scratch again.

Well if I do go back I'm thinking around late October, part of the reason is I've pets I'd like to bring and it'll give me plenty of time to get rid of stuff, pay things off and of course sell the car. This is of course still all "if's" but I'm finding more reasons now to go than I've ever had to remain here.
