Hi, Sarah, VJ sent me email notisfies me you added me to be your friend, I am not sure if that required my approve or not, I am now just trying to figure out this ... But I am glad that you added me as one of your friends  ... have a nice day ...

Ling

Hi Ling,

Yeah, I'm trying to get round to adding you guys as friends so that I can send you stuff via the PM route if it's stuff that can't really be put on a public forum.

Unless you clicked the box to have to approve everyone that adds you as a friend, you don't need to do anything.

Hope you're well

Hey guys I figured I would ask you all since you are military. On the affidavit of support for the annual income, if hubby got a re-enlistmen bonus this year should that be included? I ask because it's a one off thing and it won't be happening again next year.

We are a bit confused by this....any help would be appreciated.

I hope all you ladies are doing well :D

Hi Jamericanlove,

Sorry for not getting back sooner, but I've asked Hubby about the re-enlistment bonus and he said as it's a one off, it's probably best not to add it, but if you have I wouldn't worry too much. It would certainly make it look better for your finances, but you'll need a letter from the base stating his pay etc and unless they add that in there, it may confuse USCIS.

You could always add the letter (if there is one) that came with the re-enlistment bonus .... so that they can see it's a one off.

I agree it's a bit confusing but the way it's looking, it's probably best to keep it simple for USCIS.

Hope you're well, and the paperwork is looking good

Hi Everyone

Just thought I would stop by and see how your weekends are going. Hope yall are having a good one. I'm missing Alan a heap this week. The last time we were together was Jan 3rd - its past that 100'd day mark now and I think psychologically that’s a bit of a kick. I'm having one of those days where nothing is getting done but VJ, facebook and half hourly USCIS checks. Oh well I'm sure it wont be long till we get NOA2 now, the K1s at VSC are going pretty quickly.

Hope this finds everyone safe and well

Hey Bex,

Yeah, that 100 day mark is always a bit yuk. However, I thought the K1's were flying .... I've seen a ton of people getting there's in around the 4 week mark .... where's yours???

Us I-130 people are always having a moan about how you K1's seem to just wizz through, whereas us I-130's have to sometimes wait over 6-8 months most of the time for an NOA2 alone

Hmmmm .... that's quite #######.

Do send me your email on a PM and I'll add you to my Facebook .... awfully addictive little site at times isn't it? .... it's getting to the stage that I'm actually not ready at all for my NOA2 at all .... I've so much to do to prepare to move, and I'm getting sod all done at times due to all these websites, even with lists

By the way, what phone company do you use? ... I'm on Talk Talk, and they have a package that includes all calls to the US for free 24/7 including broadband (super for webcams) and your line rental for $40 a month ..... we wack the hell out of it .... anything else would be just too expensive and I don't understand Skype

Hi everyone,

I just found this forum and thread about 3 weeks ago when everything seemed to be out of control. I got into that situation because my hubby (a marine) and I were too lazy when we first got married two and a half years ago. We filed I-130 last Wed. and I just received my IR1 yesterday. As I am writing this, I am getting ready to go to the airport when i get up in the morning. It took only 9 days for everything to be done! And we did not have any of the documents 9 days ago. I am really thankful because I did not know I would have a chance to see my hubby before his deployment. I hope all of you will have your cases done smoothly and fast. I will post my unbelievable, at least to us ^o^, experience when I arrive in the US.

9 days!!! That's amazing!!!! ..... how fantastic is that?! ..... all you guys looking to expedite due to deployment, I hope you read this post !!!!

This totally shows me that USCIS, NVC and Consulates can work as a well oiled machine when they want to.

Congratualtions MarineBabe, and we look forward to hearing how you did when you log back on.

Enjoy your time with Hubby.

Hi Paris, yes 9 days, this was for a military expedite for deployment (on way to or in the middle of), which is the only expedite that the military can get. Until MarineBabe gets back to us, we won't know the ins and outs of her visa process, but, yes, when they need to expedite, they do it ..... fast!

Hi Ling, yes, some of the guys aren't really into the whole FRG thing, but I guess they forget that we (their spouses) need the contact, plus they can help you with lots of things before you get there ..... e.g. finding accomodation .... what the area is like in preparation for your arrival ..... stuff to do when you're there .... they'll even let you know where the nearest grocery store is .... or schools etc.

I'm going to contact mine this week .... they're easy to find, just pull up the base via google which you'll be at, and look for the link for the FRG.

I'm sure it will come as no surprise that I intend to be quite active within my group when I arrive .... I will be especially happy to help with aspects of immigration  I guess by then I'll be an expert, and so will everyone on here.
