Does anyone here know about expediting through the NVC phrase?

I have not done the NVC part myself since I applied for K3. However, from what other ladies that went the Green Card route have told me, it works exactly the same way at NVC as what you did at CIS level: send an expedite request, explaining why, with copy of the deploy. orders if the soldier received them, otherwise accompanying letter of CO. Help of Sen./Cong. office can also help move things faster.

Same thing at Embassy/Consulate level.

Hi everyone!

I just found this "group" and figured I'd join in..

My husband is in the USMC, and is, to my relief stationed stateside as of now.

We just filed our I130 like a month ago so I'm sitting around waiting for my NOA2... I can't come soon enough.

It would be great,as other people have suggested, if military members could have their case expedited without a upcoming deployment. I mean, they put their life on the line for their country, shouldn't we be able to get there a little faster?

I'm happy to have found ya'll,it's great to have people who are in similar boats around you.

Take care and speedy journey to you all!

ps. I just found out a great thing about being a military spouse, that the MilitaryOneSource can do the document translations I need..I was thrilled!

It IS possible to get an expedite without an imminent deployment. So deployment orders are not necessary. If you look up the thread 'Expedite Tips' in this Forum, you should be able to find all you need. Should you have any questions, feel free to send a message.

Does anyone have an expedite letter example? ): My husband gets home from a year deployment to Kuwait in March 2010, then he's off to Japan in June 2010 for 2 years. Please message me if you have any information or an example letter, thank you so much. God Bless.

Greetings all, I am in the Active Duty Air Force and my lovely esposa (wife) is from Colombia. She is coming over stateside at the POE in Miami on the 8th. Thats when finally we can be reunited after so many times apart. While that part is fine and dandy I have orders to PCS to South Korea in March/April and we naturally will want to go together even if the tour is unaccompanied. Now my question to you all is if you know of any way that they can expedite her green card before we leave the country *in march or april* and have it valid so that we have absolutely have no problems coming back from a 1 year tour in S Korea. I know that the green card is going to be conditional, she is arriving on a CR-1 visa. But as far as I know getting all her items lined up is going to be an extreme challenge and we need guidance. Please let us know anyone what is the best route to go or anyone have any similar experiences.

Thankssss

Hi James,

I arrived on a K3-visa so I might be mistaken, but since your wife applied for CR-1, shouldn't she receive her green card in the mail shortly after arrival? You have a great advantage of not having to go through AOS, which would take longer.

Since you will be PCS-ing, I would go talk to JAG asap if I were you. They, or someone from ACS, might know what to do in case of a tour abroad. They might also have contacts with your CIS Field Office.

Hello Catt, thanks for the fast reply! Yeah im going to call my JAG office on monday and ask for answers. I really am depended on getting her green card asap, then get her social and military ID. Really need things to roll out because of my quick turn around PCS. Sucks that I have to go to a school and be on a 'tdy' before I roll out so Im going to be hopping hotels from Feb till my PCS date in April.

Yes Shaz, although the Military Helpline is already much better than the usual USCIS line, you are still sort of on your own. Even some bases aren't that great ... when we first started, we went to talk to ACS on post, and the woman was clueless. All she could tell us was "be prepared to wait a very long time"! She did not even know about the military expedites, which cost us several months.

If you have questions, don't be afraid to ask now. Best be prepared and avoid some of the mistakes others of us have made in the past.

Take care!

This!!

My husband called them one time and they said that there was nothing they could help with?!?! somuch for a helpline so i came on here, kinda got a clearer picture but still not to sure. After we got married we went to JAG and the lady seemed pretty off and was just like u fill out this form send it send money and your done..Obv i knew that wasnt true because reading on here there is alot more involved in just that. So that was no use to. I eventually heard from many ppl about the CR1 and looked into it and spoke to hubby about it and we both agreed that it sounded like a good idea. I asked him to call the military helpine so they could speak to him about it and the answer was ''We dont know what the CR-1 is!!!...

I have to admit i so thankful for this website and i will deff keep my experiences here posted witht he whole process for others to see to in the future.

Thats bad! its typical tho and really i have learnt in just a few months not to rely on anyone else apart from those who have been through it or are going through it and have actually experienced it all. Ive given up calling people for help because i get 10different answers or no answer at all.
