Nothing wrong with signing it early IMHO. The only thing is if his income data changes between now and the actual time for filing the I-864.

i can also print it and he signs it and mail it to me and the i fill in the data afterwards... will that be ok? i doubt how come the income will change by then.... hes military so its stable for this year....

yes you can also use I-864 EZ, its a shorter version of I-864!

OH MY GOSH!! I know how our job sucks! My "kulit" (that's my sign of endearment to him...hehe) is also in the Army. Browsing and reading your messages is making me more worried that I wont be able to be with him this year. We got married last September 22,2008 and we just have the chance to fiel the K# visa yesterday(Feb 23) well its the 23rd(their time in the US) that's the start of the Scary Process....

Well, possibly he might be deployed again in afghanistan early next year (as per Obama's request....) so I'm just hopeing and praying so hard that GOD would allow me to spend several months with him before he gets deployed again...

Just venting...huhuhu

Finally my fiance comes home on Wednesday. I get to see him for 9 days before he goes back to the US and I can't wait! Hopefully it will be a while before he goes away again.

Hello all!

My husband and I applied to have our I-130 expedited.

Our case has been touched 4 times in the past week (see timeline).. What could all those touches mean???

We're really confused as everytime either of us calls the USCIS military helpline, they are at a loss to tell us what anything means.. :bonk:

We haven't received anything in the mail or any email notification except for the one saying we had applied for a military expedite.

What do you think??

Hi,

If you do not receive any response from CIS soon, then the US Citizen can ask one of his Senators or his Congressman to intervene. That might speed things up.

I think you should be able to expedite provided he has orders on hand stating he's going to deploy to Iraq or Afghanistan.

Yup just print out the I-864EZ. It's a lot shorter than the regular I-864 and if you can answer yes to the 4 questions on there then that's what you need to fill out. It's the one we used :D

Also you can fill out the DS-230 and print it out so you have it ready for when they ask for it. Prepare an email for your choice of agent form too so you can email that off as soon as possible.

Good luck! :luv:

As stated several times before, actual deployment orders are not needed. After they file for the K-3 (or immigrant) visa, they can try to get expedited treatment. Several other couples have done it this way in the past.

You have to go on a military base and get registered in DEERS!

If you get your military ID before you have a SSN (e.g. after entering the US with K-3 visa), they put a temporary number on there (even though on the card it says 'SSN', which is a bit confusing).

Since you say you have not applied for a SSN yet (and I also assume you do not have your visa/green card yet and your SSN has not yet arrived in the mail in the US), this might also be the case for you?

If you remain unsure, maybe your husband can contact the office on base that issued your ID card and double check what that number on your card signifies exactly.
