Thank you all. She is so stubborn about going back to the doctor. I fear a major fight will occur if I insist. I am calling her GP that prescribed the pills and will ask him to change them to what she was on before. If she has one more episode like last night I will take her even if I have to tie her down to do it. She is a real sweetheart but she is also as stubborn as the come.

Tell her that VJ friends are also recommending that consulting a doctor is a must.

The likely culprit is the hormones. They can really whack out some folks. If she is menopausal and this is hormone replacement therapy, you may want to consider a second opinion.

Are you a doctor?

I'm not trying to be rude, but if you aren't a doctor, I'd avoid giving medical advice on the web. We can't say anything is likely; we can just mention any experience we've had. Gary needs to take her to a doctor, and nothing any of us can say will be truly useful.

If I were a doctor would I dispense medical advice on the web? I'm going off what Gary wrote and off my mother's experience when she went through that stage. I have no clue as to her condition. They should have a primary care physician and set up an appointment. The fact that she was told to not use the hormones in the hospital and then started again and had the dizziness and weakness is circumstantial, but it is also likely tied together.

Also, I avoided this thread for this exact reason, but he posted 2x, which suggested he wanted various opinions and advice. I won't bother checking these types of threads now.

Have to agree with Alex. For what it's worth, I hope this problem is identified and eliminated with all due speed.

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

Let me put this a different way...if it IS something relatively simple like a hormonal problem (caused by the tablets) and therefore can be easily rectified, would Luz want to continue feeling like this when it could be fixed so easily?

If a simple doctors visit could "fix" it, it's worth it, surely?

Gary, get her to read this thread if you can, and then bundle her up, put her in the car and drive her to the doctor's office. We love our Luz, she is one of the most loveliest people here on VJ, we want to keep her happy and healthy. (F)(L)

Gary, I must agree that Luz needs additional medical attention if she is still having dizziness. Hogtie her if you have to! (Although I like Nessa's idea better)

Has anyone mentioned vertigo? This is just my own anecdote, but a few years ago, I started getting dizzy spells. In a couple of cases, it was so disorienting that I became very nauseated and passed out twice (once on the bathroom floor, much to the shock of my brother--it happened at his house). It freaked me out, and I was convinced I had a brain tumor or something. As it turns out, it's vertigo due to TMJ. I still get the spells from time to time, but fortunately infrequently (like once a year). Some people get dizzy spells from inner ear infections.

In any case, contact a doctor very soon! Like, today!

I'm thinking of you guys. I was really worried when I read the first thread--I couldn't stop thinking about it. (No, I'm not addicted to this site or anything...)

Now that you mention it, Luz has been complaining of pain in her jaw. I mentioned that she might have TMJ at the hospital but they seemed more focused on the cleaners as a cause. I still have a problem with hormones or TMJ as the cause for the first attack. It was SO SEVERE that I really thought she was dying. Maybe it was a combination of all three that caused the first attack and lacking the cleansers the one last night was much less severe. I don't know, I am still trying to talk her into letting me make an appointment for her. She is so stubborn sometimes.

Gary,..it may be the hormone pills,...even if the effect this time isnt as severe. You need to remember, chemicals came into play last time as well, therefore the severity, this time it wasnt as severe due to no chemicals..but the same basic symptoms, and time frame of when the pills were taken certainly do indicate the possibility of it being the meds,. she needs to get back to the docs pronto!!

Gary, I can feel your frustration. I hope that she come around to going to a doctor on a regular basis, just for her health maintenance.

It could be a combination of many things - it may take a few trips to the doctor and trying what he orders until the right diagnosis is found. She's got to realize that.

Perhaps finding a doctor that she is comfortable with...that she would put her full trust in? Wish you guys the best. (F)

My heart dropped when i saw this thread. I agree with everyone else who says Luz needs to be seen by a doctor. It could be as simple as a change in tablets, or something more serious, god forbid :( Soooooo Luzy if you are reading this, listen to your Gary and go to the doctor!!!!!!!!! Wishing you get well soon (F)

I know you say she's on hormones but have they absolutely ruled out pregnancy?

No doubt. She had a hysterectomy 3 years ago.

Well although I believe in miracles I'd bet on the hormones then. ;)

Gary,

This is a long shot, but have you had any problems with your furnace or water heater? I work around HVAC equipment and I know that Carbon Monoxide can affect people differently.... I am just trying to give another possible cause of Luz's dizziness... How have you and the son been feeling?? Anyway, we hope Luz will feel better soon!
