Good Morning everyone......Hope you all are having a great day or will be having a great day. I have been browsing alot lately trying to learn more about the AOS process and I came across this guidelines for the Adfadvit of Support. I am sure they use the same guidelines for the I-134 (K-1 K-3) and the I-864 (AOS). Anyway, I am sure iit has been posted before but osmetimes we are just too lazy to search for it. So thought I would post it anyway if anyone is interested.

2007 Poverty Guidelines

For Immigrant Affidavit of Support (which is what K-1 becomes when file for AOS)

On January 24, 2007, the Department of Health and Human Services, published its annual update of the Poverty Guidelines, taking into account increases in prices as measured by the Consumer Price Index. On March 1, posts must begin using these new guidelines in calculating levels of income and assets that immigrant visa petitioners and joint sponsors must demonstrate in their I-864 Affidavits of Support.

The following are the 2007 Poverty Guidelines for the 48 Contiguous States and the District of Columbia: (Excludes Alaska and Hawaii)

Size of Family Unit Poverty Guidelines 125 Percent

1 $10,210 $12,763

2 $13,690 $17,113

3 $17,170 $21,463

4 $20,650 $25,813

5 $24,130 $30,163

6 $27,610 $34,513

7 $31,090 $38,863

8 $34,570 $43,213

For family units with more than 8 members, add $3,480 for each additional member to meet the poverty guideline; $4,350 to meet 125% of the poverty guideline.
