by using james shortcut ultimately everyone will stuck on the IV bill other than that it take faster time than nvc timeline unless you get a RFE it will drag 2-more weeks

You save 1-3 months with James Shortcuts.

That is if you do everything right, a mistake and it may cost you time.

I figure you save 2-3 weeks by emailing the ds-3032, or by having it pre-signed by your spouse, and mailing from USA. Note: My wife NEVER received her DS-3032, so I guess in her case our savings are infinite :))

Then you save another 2 or 3 weeks by having the ds-230 filled out ahead of time.

These savings are available by just planning ahead and having all the paperwork ready.

No "cheating" needed to gain this time.

If you "cheat", and prepare your own cover sheets, and mail everything in as soon as the phone service says it is mailed out to you, then you save another 2 or 3 weeks total mail time. (Not that the mail is that slow in USA, but rather that the date they "mail it" and the date the mail room actually gets the document into the mail system can be a week difference).

You notice I didn't take off any time for the USC paperwork. Thats because it really makes very little difference, and the foreign spouses timeline is longer than the USC, so it making the USC time shorter has no overall effect.

Just curious; for NVC timeline how many of you guys are using James shortcut ??

Should we start a separate to track people using James shortcut ??

Its nice to see the time difference between the two …. Thanks

One can save about 4-6 weeks with James' short cut, if everyone is done properly.

I-130 Timeline with USCIS:

It took 92 days for I-130 to get approved from the filing date

NVC Process of I-130:

It took 78 days to complete the NVC process

Interview Process at The U.S. Embassy

Interview took 223 days from the I-130 filing date. Immigrant Visa was issued right after the interview

We saved 3-4 weeks using JSC, generating our own coversheets etc. The only thing we did wait for was the IV bill because, at the time, there was no experimental shortcut. There is now, and there are more details in the NVC forum.

There was a timeline topic for CR1/IR1 folks started by Stabu and that had a column for a yes/no using JSC. It's an older topic in the IR1/CR1 forum.

Hey Thanks, but I have a question....

The I-864 fee bill and a copy of the DS-3032 will be mailed to the USC, it is assumed you will make the USC the agent on the DS-3032. Who is USC?? And I always thought you would put oneself as the agent??? I am confused!!

Had anyone gone through this???

My IV bill was processed a few days ago and my wife stil have not received the DS-3032 form.

Also my I-864 was already generated but I still have not received the official bill.

I think the estimation of saving 1 to 3 months is accurate.

I didnt do the I-129 because of having to adjust status here...it take a little longer some times (that is what i was told on VJ) but for my husband to get SSN and green card soon after getting here and saving 1010$ whats another month?

You have to remember the time frame we submitted our papers...just as the fees change and also remember we are dealing with the government here....very little makes sense

the reason why people don't use them is they afraid of getting lost or getting RFE,if you know what you are doing it save alot of time.

by using the shortcut my case at NVC is almost 3 months already and on the last step, if i go with the traditional might as well still at the first step or second.

time with your love one is more valueble than waiting for your case to move @NVC
