Hi if this topic has been covered before im sorry, im having trouble finding anything on this site thats answers my question. so here goes.

i'll start with our story,

i met my fiance on the 24th of august o7 where i work. im a barmaid in a small kent town hotel and he was staying there as a guest after two days of persistence and a sort of kick by my sister he won me over and we spent a lovely sunday togther getting to know each other properly. this was the 26th august 07 and i see it as the first day of our relationship.

he was leaving early the next morning to spend a day and nite in london before he flew bk home to the US on tuesday. unfortuantly i could go not with him up to london to spend an extra day with him but he was so keen that he found some way of emailing me when he was in london. after that we spoke on the net every night, well night to me with the 8 hour time difference, on internet messenger and video links over the net and we have done this ever since.

as soon as i could get time off and the money saved to go, i went to visit him in LA. i spent two lovely weeks with him between oct 21st 07 and nov 4th 07. unfortuantly work couldnt let me have much more off :crying: .

the next time i got to see my man, face to face was the 17th of jan this year when he came over and stayed with me till the 31st jan.

it was on the 26th of jan that he offically proposed  on our 5 month aniversary. (L)

now im saving up to see him next and living of the hours each nite i get to speak to him on the net.

we are currently looking into what we have to do and what options are open to us so not filled yet. in our quest for answers its been suggested to us that due to the nature of our relationship i.e. we've only known and been together a short period of time. we should expect a lot more questions and well the general gist i got was we might get a harder time as they will be more suspissious of our relationship. need the loo whilst waiting

has anyone else filled after being with their so for such a short time? did you have any problems?

Hannah.

I think if you did a survey of how long people on this board knew each other before engagement or even marriage, for the spouse visa participants, you'd find your relationship right in the middle, if not on the long side. In addition, many only meet in person one time before the visa is granted. It's the internet age. USCIS and the Consulates are quite aware.

Mags and I were engaged after 4 months. I proposed 3 or 4 days after she came here for her first visit. We had no extra checks, questions, or such because of it.

Same here. We had been chatting for 4 or 5 months and 4 days into the trip he asked me to marry him. I knew as soon as I met him that he was the 'one'. Sounds naive, but I'm old enough to know a good thing when I see it. I don't envisage any problems at interview on that score either.

I knew mine was the one on the walk back to the car at the airport when we first met in person...so either not naive or we're both naive!!!

Yeah, we are so ready to get on with our lives. I'm hoping now the case is at the embassy we can move a bit faster than we did at CSC.

I hope you get approved super quick. Sending happy thoughts your way too :)

eta: I just noticed that touch. Good luck!!

Daniel and I were engaged after almost 5 months, but we knew that this would get serious and we would end up falling head over heels in love with each other in the first 2 days when we started talking. Getting my mum and dad to be happy for us was a different story altogether. Daniel stayed at home with us while they tried to make him as uncomfortable as they could. In the end he did win them over though..

We only spent 4 days together before we applied for K1. Nothing unusual about our application and no extra processing.
