Hey...

It states on the uscis website that the fee for the I-485 is $325 + $70 for the biometrics. Does this mean that we can write a check for $395 and send it with the application or we need 2 separate checks?

One check for $395 is fine.

If you are filing for an EAD or AP, these need separate checks.

09.23.2009......Embassy receives Notice of Readiness

10.13.2009......Received our interview date

10.29.2009......Successful interview!

11.5.2009........Visa received in post

11.7.2009........All the family flew to the US together :)

12.20.2009......Received Welcome to America letter

12.24.2009......10 year Greencard received in the mail

Either is fine. We used a money order.

You can trace a personal check though, and this can allow you to find out when it was cashed.
