Hi guys,

Here is my experience from today interview in Garden city.

Me and my husband came there at 1:30pm. It was so much people there, and immediately I got headache. I can't remember when they call us upstairs (because immigration officer was mean, and I don't feel good right now). But I know that it was around 3pm and we were waiting upstairs.

Then she came and said my name, and I said it's me and she brought G-325A form for my husband to fill it. I was so confused beacuse it is written on instruction that american citizen exept for name and signature doesn't need to repeat information given on I-130, but whenever we fill it and then after 15 minutes she came and we gave her, and she call us to come in office.

She swear us, and ask us 2 times do we need interpretor, and we said no.

After that she asked both of us for birth certificate with translation, certified copy of marriage certificate, my ead, passeport ofme and my husband, and she asked for divorced papers from my husnad since he was married before. We gave her everything and then she started questions. She asked first my husband about his previos marriage, how he met his wife, and what she worked, and how many siblings she had, and where did they live, and why they divorced. Then he asked him how we met, what did I do when we met, and did he ever met my family, and where they live.

Then he asked me my address, and my husband phone number, and what my husnad work, and did he work for somone or he is self-empoyed, and how many sibling he has, and where his family live, and did I ever meet them, and talk to them. Did I ever saw his ex wife, and how much money my husband make????O my God...Then she asked me how long we are being together, and where we got married.

And then she asked me yes/no questions, and she said us that we bring there certifed copy of divorced degree before they make decision, and my husnad told her these are the only divorced papers that I have, and she wasn't clear. I don't understand her, because she said that they might have decision even tomorrow, or on Monday???What a heck, he needs to drive 7 hours to get certified merriage paper, she didn't accept one that we had???

But anyway she wrote this in my passport:

She remove I-94, and wrote

A.....(that is case number she wrote)

I-485 Pending/CR-6

Present at GCU-NY/sec.245

her name and date

So what do you guys think, she didn't stamp my passport, I don't know what to think

Well i believe since she took your EAD i guess you have nothing to worry about as long as you provide what she's asking for.....I hope someone will come along to explain better for you.

Good luck

From reading your post, I am quite certain that you guys had the same IO that interviewed our case. So if you do need to submit the divorce paper, then do so, and I am sure you will get approved about 2 weeks thereafter. She also did the same thing to my passport and EAD. Goodluck and don't worry about it!

We probably had same immigration officer :-)

Anyway I hope for best. We gave her divorced papers, and she said that it need to be certified and that was mistake of my husband because he thought that he already have certified, we are going to submit it as soon as is possible.

Hey Saratara, I had very similar experience. The lady officer also asked many questions, and didn't approve right away nor stamp anything in my passport. She also mentioned application pending for review, decision to be made in the next week or two by mail. And she also took my I-94 from my passport, but gave me back my EAD and Advance Parole. I hope this doesn't mean disapproval nor 2nd interview. I know exactly how you feel and just pray we'll both be approved soon!

I also had very similar experience at the Garden city. At the end of the interview, the officer wrote the same thing on my passport.

I can't say it was satisfying interview but I'm glad it's over.

How did you find out that you're approved? Did you check your status online or you get it in mail?

I'm checking my status online every minute since I came back from the interview.

I'm checking my status online every minute since I came back from the interview.

Many a times the interviewer won't say anything about approval or disapproval. You just ave to wait for the six emails (all saying approved) that arrive at the same time - between a week to eight weeks after the interview. Good Luck
