K1

My fiancee called the hospital in Guangzhou and was told that when she is doing her medical, she will also need to get her shots done.

From what I remembered, vaccination shots are not required, they can be done once she gets to the US.

Am I wrong or is this doctor trying to earn extra money?

We had the vaccinations done after getting the K-1 visa, they are way cheaper to do in China than here in the USA. We got a yellow vaccinations book, and later took the book to US Civil surgeon for transfer to a supplement to include with I-485 when adjusting status.

Yes, vaccinations are optional for K-Visas.

Lastly since you are this close to interview, I highly recommend that you join and use "A Candle for Love" That site will give you the best info on that particular consulate. The FAQ is extensive, and the list of interview questions in the FAQ there is detailed and is in Chinese and English.

I think there is a list of required inocculations/shots on the info sheet given in preparation for the medical. These are a requirement before the visa can be issued.

Your fiance should have all her shots completed before the visa interview.

Added incentive is that it will be cheaper to have them done in China, than in the US.

They are a requirement of IMMIGRANT visas like CR-1 and IR-1, they are NOT required for NON-IMMIGRANT visas like K-Visas. In the case of K-Visas, the vaccinations are required when adjusting status in the USA from NON-Immigrant to IMMIGRANT.

Fiancee's are NON-Immigrant.

Thanks for the info. I actually found your other posts that stated K1 Visa does not requires immunization shots.

I have tried to register with Candle for Love for the last month. After receving the email to validate which I did, I still can not log onto the website. Someone mentioned that the administrator will approve your registration after a short time. But after a month wait, I received nothing so I gave up.

You need to respond quickly after receiving the confirmation email, the site admin closes the window a day or so after sending the confirm email. This has to do with blocking spammers.
