Work Authorization Renewal

Timeline

Hi All....

My wifes worker authorization card is about to expire in a months time. We need to renew it even though she has not been working (long story). Anyway...she will be working soon and will need the card.... how to we get a new one? We were living in NY when we got the first card but are now living in Texas due to military relocation. This might seem like a common question on here so I hope someone can help out. Thanks in advance.

9/25/06 - Sent I-129F to Chicago Office

9/27/06 - NOA Petition Received

10/23/06 - Petition Sent to Vermont Service Center

11/06/06 - NOA Petion Received

11/09/06 - Touched

I-129F APPROVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Same day as our I-130 11/18/06

12/06/06 - Consulate sent out packet 3.

12/27/06 - Packet 3 received (slow South African mail system)

1/11/07 - Sent in checklist to consulate

1/19/07 - Received call from consular officer notifying her of her interview date.

2/14/07 - Interview at consulate in Joburg. (fingers crossed)

2/14/07 - VISA APPROVED!!!!

Totals figures from NOA1 to interview date: 133 days or 3,192 hours or 191,520 minutes or 11,491,200 seconds

You can e-file for a renewal EAD or mail in the form.... The cost is $340.00 or you can file for her AOS.

So am I to understand that if we are in the process of adjusting her status we do not need to bother renewing her work authorization card? Once we file for AOS is that enough to cover work eligibility?

No she would still need a EAD if she wants to work while the AOS is being processed...
