Questions about getting K1 visa in Ciudad Juarez...

So I'm planning on filing for a K1 visa in a month or so. I have been reading every scrap of info I can find on this and other sites, but I still have a few questions. If you could help me with them it would be appreciated.

My first question is, how exactly do the appointments for K1 visas work in Juarez? I have heard that anytime after the NVC approves the visa and Juarez has the information, you can just show up there for the interview. Is this true? And thats different from the K3 right, because with the K3 they actually give you a specific date to go for the interview? Is this correct information or am I way off?

Also, which Affadavit of Support form will I need to take when I go for the K1 interview in Juarez? I have ready many places that its the I-134, but I have also seen that its the I-864 so I am thoroughly confused now on that issue.

Also, lets say that it is the I-134 that I have to fill out. Well, I have no job and havent had a job for a long time. So if I fill out a I-134 its just gonna have N/A written all over it. But apparently the USC who filed for the K1 HAS to be the main sponsor. So that means that I DO have to submit a I-134 with N/A written all over it right? Then my father is gonna co-sponsor me, but there is no I-134 for co-sponsors, so I am assuming that he just fills out the regular I-134 with all his info and then my fiancee takes both I-134s with her when she goes? Is that about right or am I missing something?

your question are confusing but lets see if i can help.

i live in california and my girlfreind is from mexicali. i filed the paperwork for her and we went to jaurez for her interviews.

the medical exam and interview at the embassy is on a first come first serve for k-1's. you show up with your paper work and get in line.

you need one day for the medical and another for the interview.

we spend the weekend in jaurez and she did the medical early in the morning on monday and the next day she got in line at the embassy.

the line at the embassy is very very long.

the interview is very short and once you get the building you may be setting for hours.

it took my fiance and her son about 5 hours for the interview.

i was her sponser and future husband---so i filed the support papers. i dont know what the form numbers were.

ONCE NVC SENT PACKAGE TO JUAREZ, YOU TRACK THE CASE BY EMAILING JUAREZ ONCE JUAREZ SAYS THEY SENT YOU INTERVIEW LETTER YOU CAN GO TO JUAREZ EVEN BEFORE YOU GET LETTER, YOU SET THE DATE NOT THEM, A COPY OF THE LETTER CAN BE GET AT INFORMACION WINDOW, PACKAGE 3 CAN BE DOWNLOADED FROM JUAREZ WEBSITE.

YOU CAN USE EITHER, I PERSONALLY BROUGHT THE I.134 WITH ME AND HAD NO PROBLEM, ALTHOUGH IS NOT LISTER OFFICER ASKED FOR IT, THEY JUST SAY GIVE ME AFFIDAVIT NOT REFER TO ANY FORM IN PARTICULAR.

Just a note on the affidavit for Juarez...

All they asked me for was proof of employment and last year's tax return. No I-134 or otherwise, and most people have had the same experience.

If you're anticipating using a cosponsor though, I'd get him to fill out an I-134 AND have copies on hand of his tax returns (3 years just in case) and proof of employment. But Juarez generally doesn't put a lot of stock in the financial stuff, save it for the AOS.

Also, you need to start thinking and planning for a trip to Juarez... it sounds like rules have changed that the fiances aren't always allowed in, but if your honey runs into trouble and she needs you, you really need to be there to explain things to a CO. Once you get closer to that time, sign on again and you'll find a lot of info on this website regarding hotels, juarez tips, etc. I just want you to start considering that as a real necessity.
