Two N.J. super delegates go to Obama; Norcross backs Obama; key Clinton supporters endorse Obama

Barack Obama today picked up the support of two super delegates from New Jersey as several major Democratic leaders in South Jersey announced that they would switch their endorsements from Hillary Clinton to Obama. Super delegates Donald Norcross, who had previously been uncommitted, and State Sen. Dana Redd, who had backed Clinton, are now for Obama. This is a net pickup of two super delegates for Obama and a loss of one for Clinton.

This brings the New Jersey delegate count to 72 votes for Clinton and 52 for Obama, with 3 super delegates still undecided.

"It's clear the people have spoken. It's time to unite behind a single candidate and that's Senator Obama," said Redd. "He will have won, by the end of this contest, more popular votes, more primaries, more caucuses, more delegates elected by the people and deserves to be our nominee. He has met the burden of proof to be the Democratic nominee and our next President. It's so much fun to watch that cookie crumble. More of that for the next two weeks and she won't get the big wins she needs to stay in the game. The end for her is near and one way or the other, the next occupant of 1600 Penn Ave won't be a Bush or a Clinton.

Even if she wins Texas and Ohio by small margins, it won't be enough. She needs landslides to overcome the delgate deficit and she's not going to get them.

Maybe some more districts/states will come up with mysterious "0" votes for Obama......

Failing that, she'll try something else.... The Florida and Michigan thing, bribing delegates with stuff from their past to vote for her, etc.

She will not go quietly.

I hope after the Texas and Ohio Primaries, she'll bow out gracefully so the Party can unite behind Obama. She fought a good fight but there's no mistaking where the momentum is going. Hopefully, she'll concede that what is most important is that the Democrats win the White House in November.
