I am just wondering, as canadians we pre-clear us customs here in canada, so what happens when we get our Visa approval how do we enter the USA and go thru immigration if we enter as a domestic. I heard that we canadians had to fly over to England and then fly back to a POE in the USA so we could go thru immigration. Is this true?

I flew in through toronto. Although we clear customs on this side of the border, the customs agents you are dealing with are US custom agents.

When you are going through customs just tell them that you are entering on you K-1 and wish to activate it. They will then take your paperwork and you will be taken aside to finish the rest of the process. Then you will be on your way.

You do NOT need to fly oversees then come back. They will know how to process everything at the airport.

I thought it was strange. I immigrated here 12 years ago with my family from England so this process is not really that new for my family and my dad thought I was crazy too!! Thats awesom we can enter here. I am in Halifax so we have the pre-clearance here and as I fly back and fourth every 2 weeks the customs agents know me now by name and are really friendly with me. One of them said to me last week why don't you just move down!!!
