Hillary's message to America after 10 defeats in a row - "Get real!"

You mean I have to read his book to 'get him'?

Was it ghost written?

I guess I am just used to a system where leaders go through the ranks of having to be members of parliament, then cabinet ministers before they are even considered leader material. *shakes head*

Yes but you are also used to a system where the current leader has no real mandate, so I guess politics is always imperfect!

What's a real mandate exactly? Most often the president is not supported by a majority of the popular vote not to mention that the cost factor of a presidential election precludes many a decent man/women from even running. However, I wasn't claiming it was perfect, although, I do think the system produces more substantial politicians in the top role.

I don't think it was ghost-written, but I didn't say anyone had to read his book to "get" him. But I tuned in more closely to him after I read his book in graduate school. So for me, yes, it helped shape my decision.

Regardless it is what it is. I was actually interested in the book question, but I am sure the local library will help me out with that.

This election feels like the American Idol show. Obama seems empty to me though he is really charismatic and appealing to younger generation.

Maybe he is, I don't know. But you have to ask yourself, how bad can he really be?

Worse than GWB? I doubt it. If there's a small chance he's NOT empty, I'd rather

take that chance than support the status quo, as represented by Clinton/McCain.

I have to wonder how many people will really want to take that small chance that he's NOT empty?

He reminds me of a big puffy bag of chips - it looks big and the bag is really stylish, but there's not much inside.

You have used that analogy in several threads. Maybe you can make a puffy bag of chips thread and leave it there.

All you need is a modest house in a modest neighborhood

Obama ain't empty. The establishment wouldn't be scared shitless if he were. And they're scared.

Not saying you're wrong, but what is your evidence that the establishment is 'scared'? That they chose McCain?

Now, the David Duke-Edwin Edwards governor's election.....HAHAHAHAHAHA

Were you in Louisiana for that one? Talk about stuck between a rock and a hard place. Seriously, when you have to convince yourself to vote against David Duke, it's a problem.

I know, 100 certain about it, that I do not want McCain or Clinton as president. The status quo must go. McCain is a lunatic. You can see it in his eyes.
