congratulations. i didnt know u were waiting for approval. were u stuck in fbi namecheck like alot of us were?

i think we was stuck in limboland and they forgot about us after the medical rfe was sent back in aug of last year. nessa filed for another ead ($340) and while doing the biometrics again i asked the peopel at the counter what was up with her case, they looked in the computer and saw that it's been sitting there and they sent an email inquiring what the status was. that was about 3 weeks prior to the aos approval......coincidence? i think it kick started someone.

naw, they pretended they lost my medical just so they could delay the process to make me get close to my AP and EAD expiration so we could give them more money and make us spend more money with doctors, probably because they have a deal with them we pay them and they give the government a percentage of the money paid.

I don't think they forgot about us, I believe like rebecca said:

our government is clever
they are desperate to make we people that come from another country to live here spend lots of money just so it'll be such an expensive and stressful process that people will give up moving to the States and they'll have less immigrants here.

i believe ur right in making some of us wait til they decide its time to approve things.

alot of us in aos have waited like 3 years on a name check to be finished and then all of a sudden we all got approved at once. i think they were just sitting on those files and not doing anything with them for all that time.

2 years.

My plan is to apply for citizenship only because I want to be eligible for better jobs, otherwise I wouldn't. I lose a lot of opportunities here because I'm not a citizen and I can only get NAF jobs. That's also the only reason I was so p!ssed off they took forever to approve me. The longer they take, the longer I can only apply for sh!tty jobs.

So we'll remove condition when the time is right, just to give USCIS more money applying for the ten years green card, then by the time they'll be giving me the 10 years, we'll be applying for citizenship.

Yea, I think it is absurd the amount of fees, especially for the long delays to get AOS and naturalization processed. I mapped out how long it could take for my fiancee to get her citizenship and it was something like 4 1/2 years once she files for AOS due to processing delays, even though under a K-1 visa, she should only need to have physical presence and continuous residence in the U.S. for 3 years to be eligible for citizenship. It's even longer if I count the estimated 6 months for her K-1 visa to get approved.

sweet. just saw this post!!

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

Senator Barack Obama
Senate Floor Speech on Public Debt
