Numbers on the back of the check

The numbers on the back of my check did not match any of the receipt numbers but they were off by only few numbers and they looked like valid MSC-xx-xxx-xxxxx numbers

Does this mean USCIS has an internal tracking receipt number(s) thats different than what's given out to applicants? It has to mean something when they stamp your checks right?

I did notice that the number on the back of my cashed checks was different from my actual tracking number by one digit (like the one on the back of the check would end in 071 and my tracking number ends in 072).

Same here...Makes me wonder if USCIS opens a Master Receipt number to track other receipt numbers for every individual.

My number starts with MSC...
