I'm still in. I've been exercising every day, except for the weekend. I'm planning to lose 20 pounds, but so far the weight loss has been 0. Probably drinking too much beer with all the people I haven't seen in a year.

We'll see how I keep up with the 6-days-a-week exercise schedule and if it actually works with losing weight...

:( The scales are fibbing... When I ate a whole family sized bag of Almond m and M's I lost lbs. Now that I am eating fruits and veggies and exercising i gained lbs.... I guess my body will have to adjust to the shock...

We'll see where we are by next Monday... I went swimming again today.....

fruit and especially juice has a lot of sugar in it.

Yeah but it's not a very bad kind of sugar (unless you add sugar to it...hehe) :no: ..... you won't gain significant weight by eating fruit...it'll actually make your skin look a lot younger ! :yes:

A lot of any kind of fruit is better than some M&Ms. ;)

Latest steps:

10/26/2006- Consulate receives case (seriously, one month to receive the case?? BS!), and packet 3 that I sent even before they had received the case.

01/02/2007- Interview!!!!!!!!!!!!! Got a 221(g)

01/23/2007- Second Interview. VISA granted!!!

01/29/2007- VISA arrived.... no envelope though. I'm gonna contact them and see what happened this time!

01/31/2007- I'll have to send them one last financial support evidence.

02/01/2007- Evidence sent

02/02/2007- Evidence received by Consulate

02/06/2007- Consulate sends envelope!

02/07/2007- Envelope received!!!

02/10/2007- Flew to the USA!!!!!!

04/17/2007- Wedding day!!!

weeeee .. I just found this thread..

I'm in.. actually three weeks ago my daughter and myself joined Jenny Craig.. Outside the normal .. we being big girls thing amd should lose.... are doing for additional reasons..

Her for medical reasons.. developed a large blood clott due to birth control pills... and needs to get weight off her leg... . .. Me mmm.. more of a surprise for Janak... he has no clue I'm doing this..and I am not saying .. I figure.. he has already taken me as is.. he he .. anything i get off is only whippcream on this piece of cake..

so far... first two weeks i lost total of 8 lbs... yeahh.. dang it .daughter lost 12.. pisser being 45.. ..

then I weighed in yesterday .. left almost in tears... I really stuck to my menu diet.. and.. dammit .. i only lost 1/2 lb. .. sux rocks i say .

Well off for a better week.. maybe ill kick some ####### next wed on weigh in ..

I lost 2% since Monday! Woooooooooooo Hooooooooo!

Been exercising & doin South Beach.....you drop water weight so it's not like the losses will keep up at this rate, but still!

Janet....welcome & GOOD LUCK. How is your daughter's leg? My David got a dvt on one of his flights home & it was really bad...was hospitalized for like a month & it was very touch and go for a while for him!

My hubby and I joined a gym a month or so ago ok maybe two I can't really remeber,lol. I have really come to loving the weights though, i used to be a real cardio junky but when i was with my trainer he told me no more than twice a week and do weights about 3-4 times. Thats cuz I don't need to lose, i want to tighten. I've really noticed a difference. My arms are killing me today, i think i pushed to hard. But since i've started i've gained weight too but i soon realized it is muscle weight i'm gaining. I'm heavier yet my clothers are starting to fit better.

I lost 50 pounds several years ago (gained some back) and what worked for me was simple diet & exercise. One pound of fat contains 3500 calories, so if you burn 3500 calories more than you eat, you lose one pound of fat. Problem is, your body wants to hold onto that in case there's a famine, but since there won't be a famine, we just keep getting bigger.

The main thing is to have discipline and don't overdo it. After the first few days of my 1500 calorie per day diet, I was in a place where I was aware of being hungry but easily able to tolerate it. If you try to starve yourself every day to lose weight fast you'll find you can't do that for the months it will take and you'll give up.

I lost about 2 pounds every week (1000 calories per day deficit) and in 6 months I went from 230 to 180.

I am 9.5 lbs down :dance: that is after my 2 weeks on Southbeach Diet and down to the fact that I now walk 6 miles a day to get to work and back :D

can I please have a potato now?? :lol:

I've lost 19lb in the last 6 weeks.....15 to go to reach my goal with under 6 weeks to go to my interview :crying: Im running out of time to lose it for when I am reunited with hubby hahahahaha hope he dont walk past me cause he dont recognise me or doesn't want to lol j/k

Good job, wench and welshcookie. I still haven't lost a single pound despite my 5-6 times a week exercise schedule. But I guess I must be converting fat into muscle because my clothes already seem less tight than they did last week....

Doesn't really matter, though. While I would love to lose some weight, I'm mainly exercising for mental stability and to balance the intellectual activity of writing 6-8 hours a day with some physical activity. It's fun and that's what counts.

Hope you're all enjoying this as well. :thumbs:

Wow, you all rock!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WAY TO GO!!!!

I went out all day with friends yesterday, and we went out to lunch and I STAYED ON MY DIET!

It's hard watching what you eat without a cig in your mouth. It's deffo harder for me this time. *shrug*

Man, you all are doing so great...and you all look so great to begin with (Val, Lorelle) that it makes me think 'omG they're gonna shrink to nothing'

LisaD thanks... Daughter spent a few days in hospital. Was placed on Luvnox injections. along with Coumidin. Its now 6 weeks since all has happened.. she has started to return to work. Her leg still swells. as it should.. Her clott is from her knee. Popliteal area to the biforcation at the Inferior Vena Cava. rather large. They will keep her on Coumidin for min 1 year. and she is told to NEVER NEVER again take hormones.. whether it is BC or HRT. She is getting Married in August... she and her honey are so concerned about the baby makin .. with being on meds.. and .all. aughhhh..

For her to lose would be good.. .

OK OK . myself.. my god.. Im dying here.. Jennycraig.. even tho they say you can have al the green non starchy foods.. as you wish.. .. even with my food that im given.. Ive got some serious rummbling in my tummy.. .. I dont think Im getting enough protien... finding too large a sugar drop and catching myself in the shakes a bit more than i care for... .. maybe just body detoxing.. but.. im turnign into a crazy maniac.. .. I WANTTTTT SOOOOMEEEEE BREAD.... or somethinggggggggg
