I recently had to get a new Canadian passport because mine was expiring within the month and while I was doing that, I had to get a new birth certificate because they said mine was "damaged" and they couldnt read all the numbers. So, I got a new birth certificate which has a new number on it and I'll be getting my new passport in the mail in a few weeks. I had photocopied my birth certificate and passport for my visa application, since I have a new birth cert and passport, will I need to re-submit new photocopies of my new passport and birth cert? Any help would be great! Thanks! =)

I would think yes. You could take both new and old to your interview with copies. but I find it surprising that your birth certificate would have a new # on it.

I didnt think the number would be new... but it was. I found it odd. Should I send a new photocopy to VSC?

when you say 'they' said they couldn't read the #s on the birth certificate, do you mean VSC? if so, then you should send a copy of the new one to them. I wouldn't bother with the new passport unless they asked for it.

the "they" I am referring to is the passport office when I was applying for my new passport. VSC has a copy of my old birth certificate (the one damaged and apparently missing numbers). Should I send a copy of my new one?
