Ok....so now im wondering if I have my account on the website set up correctly to receive emails. I have changed the address due to some moves I have done twice and no touch....also I called..what day was it?...Monday?...and spoke to an officer that said she would get back to me...and still no touch or call..

Could it be the I have my account set up wrong? I did receive though the account set up verification letter...Has anyone else encountered this problem?

Let me know..

Diana

Easy enough to check. Change your password. You'll get an email verifying that you changed it. That will at least show your email is correct. Then login to your account. Next to the "Receipt number" field is an "Email" field. If it has a Y in it, you are set to automatically receive email.

Thanks...I'll do that.

RJ, I apologize for misinterpreting your tone in your previous message.

I have my cookie; it's others who don't.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Yeah, but soon there'll be a different cookie that you'll want. Then what will you do?

The problem, as I see it, in your method is that you advise people "After using your head in clear evaluation of your own circumstances", when pondering the available options you listed. My experience on this website is that very few have the objectivity to evaluate clearly his or her own situation. I know that I myself struggled thoroughout the wait to be objective. So, while this method may have worked for you, it will undoubtedly be abused by many people in the future, thereby rendering it an ineffective method.

Could be. It also could be that after a try or two, such people will get the picture and will wait until a future month to call again.

I found myself wondering last night how many NON-members of VJ, without the support group that we have, keep calling and calling and calling either the Customer Disservice line or the RFE line.

And congratulations on your recent marriage, si man! :)

Touches don't generate emails. Only approvals and, I believe, RFE's. You'll just have to look at the "Last Updated" date to see if you've been "touched." (Keep in mind, however, that touches mean absolutely nothing.)

Well T-Bone, I tried your approach today :) I wanted to wait my turn in line but once I began seeing others that filed after me begin to get there approvalsI became a little weak :)

I talked to a very nice person. We had a friendly banter and itturns out she is originally from Findlay, Ohio which is about 20 miles south of where I live herein Bowling Green, Ohio. ( Small World after all) She told me that my case was assigned to an officer on February 27th so Hopefully I will see an aprroval notice soon.

At this stage of the game, I think the wait is at its most unbearable stage. My hats off to everyone that has gone through this process and for those that have been here much, much longer. I hope that the process continues to speed up for everyone at CSC. I am very envious of VSC but I am happy that at least not everyone does not have to endure this wait. Have a great WEEKEND everyone :)

That's positive news, Chris, si man! At least now, you know. Thought: The bears can wear hats, but the unbears can go bear-headed. VSC sucked for so long (some of those threads were mighty bitter) that it's good to see flow there again. I spent 200 years + summers going to UT (TU), just up from BG. Let us know when you get the final good news!

Thanks for this TBone - would be nice if it could be stickified to help others :)

Welcome back, sweetiepie! Some here would vehemently object to stickification. I'll PM you regarding the other.
