Probably a really dumb question but...

For those of you who have either used ACCO fasteners or punched the 2 holes in the papers before sending your packet...I have read the guides for assembly and went out to Staples tonight to get an ACCO hole puncher.

I got there and this was the only 2 hole puncher they had http://tinyurl.com/2u3ms6

I stood there for about 20 mins staring at all the hole punches they had, but none were "ACCO" brand. Then I picked up the Swingline one and apparently they are made by ACCO...

My question is, is that the type of hole punch I need?

I realize this question is probably really lame, but I really don't want to screw up the papers beforehand. I'd like to make it a bit easier for the VSC person going over my case, not harder.

I just want to know if I should go ahead and use this hole puncher or not punch any holes at all.

Thanks in advance, I'm just sort of at that point where I'm freaking over the tiny details before I send everything out.

I actually wanted to get my stuff out today but when I walked across the street to the PO from work, I realized it was a holiday lol.

My brain is mush at this point

I used Staples REGAL (paper) CLIPS. You can get a box of 100 for a buck 50.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

yeah I have everything paperclipped in sections where they belong, i also got some of those heavy duty clips...the kind that you squeeze opened and then put the "wings" down to hold it

I just wanted to make everything easier so whomever it is at the VSC doesn't have to do the hole punching on my papers. I don't think it's necessary to do it, but since I have an extra I figured why not :)

I'm in overdrive mode too, so no worries. ;-) I filed in 2004 and used the simple (Standard) 2-hole punch that can be had for free at any Kinko's. Worked just fine and plan to do the same this time around. I will also use the small black clips (the "wings" thing you mentioned above) to dileniate the separate sections, each with a "contents" letter. I'm an engineer and #######, so all of this is somewhat the norm really. Funny, but I called the USCIS last week to ask some specific questions about completing the G-325A. I did this on two occasions. While the answers were slightly different, the basic theme I got from both reps is that you cannot provide "too much information." So with that in mind, I'll spend another few days completing the forms and making them more organized before sending them in. I'd prefer not to get a RFE, so anything I can do to help them is an acceptable part of the process.

Best,

Jerry

I just used a big paper clamp and separated sections with folder tabs.... worked fine.

I was originally going to compile a 3-ring binder... but that got complex and time-consuming so I went with simple version.

And it's not a dumb question... there are many posts about this. I remember when I submitted ours I was crazy trying to make it perfect!

Not a dumb question.....I even called the day I mailed it to double check. I used the Staples brand prong fasteners (Acco knock off) and 2hole punched the top and put it all together. Acco is just a name brand. I was more concerned about putting holes in the paper myself.....but at that point, every little detail stresses us out.
