I am the USC...my husband didn't have any children. However, I am a teacher and what I can recommend is to have any school records available to bring with you when you register. You can call the local board of education office where the children will be registered and find out what they require for enrollment. Birth certificates, shot records, any school records, proof of custody and permission to bring the children to the US (if a divorce is involved)...these are just a few things I could think of off the top of my head. Hope this helps. :)

Please share your experiences moving with kids from a foreign country to US, what documents you need for school registration?

We went to school in Pakistan for four years when we returned to the USA for school it was my last year of high school and my younger brother and sisters were in elementary school we had to show immunizations proof......birth certificate........social security numbers........and they tested each of us to see what grade we tested at because the levels of education in Pakistan are so different than in the USA.......for high school i had to show proof of my credits from the foreign country it consisted of hours for each subject and test scores......it was the only way i could get credits applied for the years i went to school there and since USA high school insist on Credits to graduate i can only thank God that my mom had the for site to make sure that we documented my hours in class and each and every score i received stamped and signed by the school..........

The only thing we needed was vaccination record..... They mentioned school transcripts but we never did supply that eventhough we have it

YMMV

Maybe I should add that school districts vary from district to district as to what they actually want when registering a child. This is why I suggested the OP call the local school board in the district the children will be attending school. :)

Absolutely, in very much the same way as consulates vary from country to country and DMV requirements vary from state to state .... The best source is always the local entity itself....

YMMV
