Packet 3?

Is there anything inside packet 3 that requires the NON-US Citizen to actually see it?

In other words... if packet 3 is received at his house in Germany, and he is here in the US...does he have to return to fill that out, or can we just download the forms and mail them in from here? If there is an identification number or something, someone at his house can open and scan or give him the info... we just didn't know if there was something else specifically inside the packet that requires him to have the original in hand..

Any thoughts??

The beneficiary will get Pack3 sent to his house from the US embassy in Germany.

There is one one thing that needs to be filled out by the petitioner, which is the affidavit of support all the other documents the beneficiary has to fill in.

After the petitioner has filled out the affidavit of support and gatherd the documents that belong to it,he/she has to mail the origional to the beneficiary.

You also might want to look at the guides, there is alot of helpful information there.

He will need the case number that is in packet three as well as the checklist that comes in the packet. Most other forms can be downloaded

There was nothing in my Fiance's packet that required her to physically handle the packet. Since the forms appear to vary consulate by consulate you would need someone to take a look at the packet 3 and read you what it says. It probably wouldn't hurt to have it scanned so you can read it yourself. I can think of no reason why it couldn't be opened by someone and explained to your fiance/husband while they are visiting you in the US. Our consulate was in Canada though so someone from Germany might have a better idea.

We went through China, but the entire packet 3 was down loadable from the Embassy's web site. Your case number should be provided to you when you receive your notice from the National Visa Center that your case is being forwarded to the Embassy. It looks like the information from the U.S. Embassy is pretty complete. Here's the link for the information you need . . .
