What the hell is so special about babies anyway?

I wonder if I can joke around about hurting a mod.

I would not suggest it.

So anyway, last night I convinced my wife to try swaddling again. I really thought at 2 months he was too big for that. Shazam, he went to sleep right away! We were both looking at him and laughing, he looked so funny.

Picking her up and singing to her usually helps. She's the only person in the world that appreciates my singing. Everyone else usually starts crying when I sing. :P

LOLOLOLOL.

Didja put the groovy blue hat on him? I love that hat!

You'll know he's had enough of the swaddling when he 'finds his legs' and starts to kick more... I found that babies still like to feel 'cocooned', even outside of the swaddling. To make them feel more secure in the huge expanse of a crib, I would tie the bottom bumper pad halfway up the crib to make the crib seem smaller to the baby. That works until they start moving around in their brib....

If you have a swing and the batteries are installed in the unit above the baby's head, DON'T change the batteries with the baby in the seat. A friend of mine did that and she dropped a D cell battery on her daughter's head. It was not pretty.

8-30-05 Met David at a restaurant in Germany

3-28-06 David 'officially' proposed

4-26-06 I-129F mailed

9-25-06 Interview: APPROVED!

10-16-06 Flt to US, POE Detroit

11-5-06 Married

7-2-07 Green card received

9-12-08 Filed for divorce

12-5-08 Court hearing - divorce final

A great marriage is not when the "perfect couple" comes together.

It is when an imperfect couple learns to enjoy their differences.

I think that falls into the category of 'OMG I inadvertently tried to kill my child' moments that most parents manage to compile.

I actually think your friend should remember that moment and use it later in life. Like when mouthiness kicks in. "Once I dropped a ten-pound battery on your head and felt guilty about it. At this moment I don't...."

Of course, I used a great deal of sarcasm as I raised my son. After he learned to appreciate the drollness of it, he looked forward to my retorts.
