Bring a few G-325A forms with you for You and your Fiancee to fill out. G-325A is a four page form.

Again the example forms here on VJ will spell out exactly what to do.

Initially you need:

I-129F, G-325A for USC, and Foreign Citizen, and a letter of intent from USC and foreign citizen.

Get plenty of pictures together.

Are you being payed as an employee and then contracted out(W2)? Or are you being payed for each contract individually(1099)?

If you are being payed for each contract completed you probably fit the desciption of an "independant" contractor even though you work in an unionized field. You would need to send a copy of your income tax return rather than just a letter from your employer since your tax return would better represent your total income.

Instead of tax return, it is better to get simple IRS transcripts, less paperwork to provide.

Worry about I-134 affidavit of support closer to visa interview, it is not needed when you file the I-129F.

All true but perhaps he's asking what to put down as the name of his employer.

To the OP, it is an I-129F you're dealing with, not an I-129. One is for a worker and one for fiance. Do start with the guides, but you'll also have questions later. We're here for you but the guides do the "walk through".

when i went to PI. Rose and I went to an internet cafe in a mall and filled out all the forms. I actually just had her fill out in handwriting first (g-325) then typed it out. Not everyone in has all the computer gadgets were use to having. We then went to a nation bookstore and made copies of my boarding passes, plane trip stuff, and a few receipts from around there. We also had to go to a SM to print out some of the pictures of us together. I know your gonna take everything home to finish off the paperwork to send. However, I suggest you get it all filled out before you leave PI. Then go and a complete duplicate of the application so you can leave it with your fiance. I failed to make. Your probably gonna end up doing it at home and sending it to here, so get it over with.

Good luck

You wrote only I-129, so I wanted to point that out.

There's been a recent discussion on union workers that move from contractor to contractor. I believe the resolution was to list the Union and Local as the employer. They'll get the picture.

On a side note, if you're going to do this yourself, now is the time to start paying attention to every detail both on the forms and in your communication here. In this process, the devil is in the details. Time to start studying, including the immigration dictionary at the top of the main forums page. Read far more than you post.
