I just PM'd Luz's cell number to Charles, Amber, LisaD and Steven. Luz would love to hear from any of you. If you want to call her just get it from one of those mentioned. I just didn't want to post it in the open forum. Thank you all for your kind wishes.

Gary

Hi guys! I just got back home. Luz is doing better. They may let her go home later tonight. What happened is still a mystery. The only thing we can come up with is that it was a combination of the fumes from her hair dye (she had just finished dying her hair) and the fumes from the Pine-sol combined in a hot humid closed up bathroom. At this point it's still just a guess. She is in the CCU floor of the best hospital in central Illinois. They are taking very good care of her. They allowed me to spend the night last night and that made her feel much better. Today she is doing well. She is strong enough to complain about the catheter and the IV and she keeps telling me she wants to go home. The doctor will be by around 6PM and make that decision at that time. I suspect they will let her go. I haven't had time to read all 9 pages of well wishes but I assure you I will tell Luz about the outpouring of kindness you have all shown. Hopefully tonight she will be online to thank you herself.

I just came home to check on Robin, take a shower and change. I am on my way back to the hospital now. With any luck Luz will be home tonight. Thank you all again.

This is wonderful news. Give her our best and we will be praying that she gets to go home tonight.

(We need some kind of "friend-network" here on VJ... pick one or two people that you trust, and give them your contact info so they can check on you in situations like this and let everyone else know, too. I've had too many internet friends just "disappear" with no word heard ever again by anyone.)

Sounds good. Now can I have Mags' phone number? :P

Gary - I am so glad Luz is doing better!

I would definitely read the contents of the hair dye and Pine-Sol. You very well could have produced a nerve gas of sorts like when bleach and ammonia are combined.

Oh thank god.

I'm so freaking relieved..........I feel almost like bawling......

That's what I was kind of thinking.

Thanks Gary. Tell her to stop dying her hair with the Pine Sol so we don't ever go through this again!!!!! (hee hee!)

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip

Well, since everyone has (once again) entirely skipped over or brushed aside whatever I post, I suppose I should redirect you all to my earlier entry in this same thread which addresses this very same issue: CLICK HERE
