I am going through ROC at the moment and have been waiting 9 months for approval. Well, today i got a letter in the mail from uscis and we have to go to an interview on April 24th. We had to go to an interview for AOS too...

cdneh: Any word on your ROC yet? Did the fingerprints go through ok the second time around?

OMG that so sucks Kiwiana!!! They make you wait all this time, and now they finally get off their behinds and want to interview you...again! And not for another 6 weeks???What is wrong with these idiots? :bonk:

I have not heard a blinkin thing. I was told that if they didn't go through, they wouldn't expect me to go all the way back to TN. The person doing the prints had no idea what they would ask for, and was sure surprised when I told her what was in store if this last lot don't work. She kept saying, but you already have a GC with a fingerprint on it..and that one takes fine?!?

*sigh* I hate USCIS. I really do. *hugs*

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

I have to admit that i have been feeling quite frazzled by it all lately. I think the worst part is that i just DON'T understand why they do certain things. I mean, we went to an interview at AOS and before that during the K1 process (like everyone else goes through). The evidence that i sent in for ROC is still the same what i have now.. I mean , i will just be showing them the same things that i mailed in for ROC apart from this year tax forms that we filled out. And WHY did it take 9+ months and two service requests before i heard anything... I think for the CSC June filers there is just me and two other people who are still waiting to be approved. *huge sigh*

And look at all the aggravation you have been through all through the process.. Got held up at NVC for like an eternity!! That was just so unnecessary! And now with your fingerprints! I mean, during this whole process we must have had our fingerprints taken at least 10 times!! Can't they just take one of the 10 prints that you have already given?? Its not like you morph into a different species every 2 years and grow new hands with new fingerprints!!! :P *shakes head* And they haven't even let you know if the recent prints taken for the second time were captured successfully or not.. So you are left in the dark as to what is going on.

So it has been almost 5 months now since you filed your ROC... I truly truly hope that you hear something very soon!! *huge hugs*

Ok, thanks Kiwiana....

They baffle me Kiwiana :) Who knows. I read where you said it had been 5 months since I filed, and I was thinking ..really? lol I haven't even bothered to count, I just know of all the May and June filers still waiting, and made up my mind it would be at least June before they ever let me know. And we have the added benefit of being at VSC, who are slow as slow can be :P

I would put money on having to go the police clearance route. I wonder if they will bother to let me know ...some fine day?

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

Thanks Andie! :) How is it going with your K1? I'm sorry i haven't looked at your timeline.. When did you file the K1 (I-129f)

Looking at what you and Cdneh are going through, I have this vision of endless buildings with multiple files for everyone piling out of boxes - nothing seems simple. I guess there are reasons but it makes it difficult to just get on with 'life'.

We initially filed in March last year just before finding VJ (sadly), only to wait 5 mths for a denial. He discovered after the petition was sent that some papers were left out and he sent them in when he received the NOA1, with a copy of it showing our file number etc. We should have just sent a new petition. Anyway, the second pack never found the first (no surprise really, especially knowing what we know now). We tried to get it reassessed etc, but got no further. We have had all sorts of ups and downs since them, family things, health etc. We have everything ready for the new petition and it is due to go any day now.

If it was over here, I could probably just talk to someone at the local office and actually get to talk to a 'live person'. Its stressful when you are dealing with such a big system and you can't get any feedback, as you already know (several times over). Makes dealing with the NZ IRD look like a picnic !

I am soo sorry that you went through all that and now have to start again!! It's terrible that it took them 5 months to deny your petition due to lack of papers etc. (And after you sent on the papers too, despite the second pack not matching up to the first one)... When we first filed the I-129f, we didn't know about VJ and my (now) husband sent in the forms etc and left out some papers too and it got sent back to us maybe a month later (with the cheque) Then i found VJ online and everything i needed to know was right there as far as what to file and send in etc... I am very glad I found VJ and all the lovely people here that help out and all their kindness..

If it was over here, I could probably just talk to someone at the local office and actually get to talk to a 'live person'. Its stressful when you are dealing with such a big system and you can't get any feedback, as you already know (several times over). Makes dealing with the NZ IRD look like a picnic !

That is soo true! Most of us here on the kiwi thread have at some stage contacted the embassy in Auckland (via email) for questions regarding the interview or K1 process and have gotten a response within 2 days! Here it is just so much bigger and you just can't seem to get any straight answers when you do manage to talk to an actual person on the phone. They are all pretty much trained to say the standard things they are suppose to say, take down details and tell you that you will hear back in such and such time... I realise that they are over worked and very under staffed but one can't help but get so frustrated by the whole process at times.

Anyway, let us know when you do file your I-129f, so we can all follow the journey with you!:star: At the very beginning of the process, it can all seem such a LONG wait but once you get to interview stage, the time will just FLY by!! :)

Hi Jamie! I sent my packet 3 in on the 2nd of this month, it was received at the consulate on the 4th, my interview appointment letter was also dated the 4th but I didn't receive it until the 10th (Easter weekend messed with the post I guess), and my interview is this coming Thursday (the 19th) - I was quite shocked at how close it was! But I guess I did receive the letter a bit late. Appears to be a pretty short turn around time anyhow at the moment just going from what happened with ours, hope that helps!

Edit: 'Packet 4' was only a letter stating my interview time. I guess because the previous instructions list covered everything to bring etc (:
